“It’s a trap!” but you won’t regret it.
I bought this originally to “collect and display”. The model is very nicely made and has a lot of detail to it. My original intention was to display this on its stand, but when I got the Amazon package and opened it, it looks awesome in its packaged state. With the big display windows in the front and back of the box you can see the top and bottom of the ship, it’s awesome and staying in its original packaging for now. :D As far as the game is concerned, I don’t know, wasn’t planning to know or cared. Now I’m curious. I’ve bought a few of the Empire ships and am planning on a few more that interest me, as well as a few “rebel scum” ships, like Leia’s from episode IV. When I eventually get the Armada Core set and convince the wife of going a few rounds, I may or may not “open” my Empire Armada collection of ships “if” I get hooked. Anywho, love the ship, box was sealed and undamaged! I would recommend waiting to purchase the ships you want until they drop in price, as they sometimes do. I bought this one for $10 in new unopened condition. Will buy more from this vendor.

Baby Raider looking pretty good
Recently got the Armada starter set to play with my brother. He plays as the Empire side and I play as Rebels. I was looking for a good balanced expansion for us to get, and ended up getting this with the CR90 Corellian Corvette. The pairing was great in our first match out of the box - things were tense and a lot of fun.The model is, as always, very good looking. We compared it to his X-Wing Raider and the scale is excellently done. This is a great ship if you want to play or even just display it.

Good model -- suffers from not being GREAT like some of the others made by Fantasy Flight
I couldn't tell you the first thing about Fantasy Flight's X-Wing or Armada tabletop games, but I'm a big fan of their miniatures for these games. I absolutely loved their X-wing (Star Wars X-Wing: X-Wing Expansion Pack) and A-wing (Star Wars X-Wing: A-Wing Expansion Pack) miniatures, and the Millennium Falcon (Star Wars X-Wing: Millennium Falcon Expansion Pack) is the best desktop Falcon model bar none. Likewise, the Imperial Star Destroyer (Star Wars Armada: Imperial Class Star Destroyer Expansion Pack Board Game) for Armada is your best option if you want that Imperial behemoth on your desk. So, with that track record, I snagged the distinctly-shaped Nebulon-B frigate to add to the collection. I like the model, but it's not quite as satisfying as the others. In hindsight, it's understandable: the Falcon and Star Destroyer models are themselves large-ish, giving lots of room for intricate detail; likewise, the X-wing and A-wing are tiny but also don't have as many e.g. rivets, turrets, grease streaks, portals, etc. as those two larger vessels. The Nebulon-B "source material" is an intricate capital ship model, but it's smaller even than the Falcon model and we miss out on some of the fine detailing that make the Star Destroyer and Falcon so fetching. That said: it's still a pretty neat model. There are good "greebles" (i.e. little hull details), especially along the narrow tube connecting the forward hull to the engines. The color variation for some of the pods on the forward hull match the filming model well enough. The tall radio tower and engine fins are delicate-looking but firm.My only actual complaint is that while the model connects firmly to the display peg, the base of the peg doesn't quite have enough friction to stay secure in the base; if I shift the base, the peg and attached model tend to tilt forward pretty significantly. But, I don't move these things around much, so no big deal for me. Tabletop gamers, though, might take notice is this is a system issue.

Rebels response to the Star Destroyer
This is the ship the Rebels need in order to face the Imperial Star Destoyer. It has the weapons and shields to face it. The Commander that comes with this ship, is one of the most powerful, Admiral Ackbar. With his ability, it can toss 11 dice on its broadsides up close and 5 red long distance. One of its best upgrade cards is Redundant Shields, allowing it to repair 1 shield every status phase. I add Enginerring Captain and Engineering team, and this ship can handle attacks. I fly this almost every game as a command vessel, and believe it is a vital addition to a Rebel fleet.
