Nice Lamp, but not a clear description
Over all, this is a very nice lamp and I am happy with the purchase. I would like to clear some things up that others had in their reviews and mention some things that I did not know until I received it.1) The shade IS made of glass. The glass used in these "tiffany style" shades can feel like plastic or resin when tapped on and that is normal. Do a quick internet search and you can read up on why that is.2) The description for this lamp did NOT say that the glass has an iridescent or sort of a carnival glass look to it when the lamp is off. I'm not a fan of that, but I'll put up with it. I just wish that this was mentioned somewhere. When the lamp is on, it looks exactly as it is pictured on Amazon. Some people said that their shades had an oil film on them when they unpacked them. I thought maybe that was the case with mine, but this does not wash off.3) Yes, this is made in China which means it was probably manufactured very quickly. The panes of glass are not perfect. Do you see it from a distance? Not really. There is, however, 120 pieces of glass in this shade; the description says 105.4) The intricate detailed embroidery pattern part around the bottom of the shade is a plastic overlay on a single pane of glass. I knew that before I purchased it, so that doesn't bother me. It looks great, plastic or not!5) The base is NOT metal. The description is deceiving on this as it only says a "hand painted Vintage Bronze finished base". The base is some sort of resin or maybe plastic. No one really notices this as it looks metal. It is heavy and I don't think it is easily knocked over. Just wish I new it wasn't metal a head of time. The pull chains are metal.6) The light emitted is very nice. It doesn't throw a lot of light up, so it doesn't illuminate the room quite like my old lamps with paper shades did. It does throw a lot of light down making it great for reading. I actually only turn one of the lightbulbs on because I don't like room extremely bright. If you really love the look of it in the photos on Amazon, like I did, you should buy it. It really is an eloquent looking and sturdy piece.

Nicer looking in Person than the photo provided
Man, what a nice looking mission styled lamp. Looks much better lit up here in my living room than the picture provided. I have a more masculine decorated living room and this lamp rocks. There is some red glass that really accents the shade nicely that is not apparent in the photo listing. I shot a couple pics with my iphone 7 but still can't reproduce the nice lighting effects. I have two 40 watt GE Reveal light bulbs installed with a table top dimmer to dial back the light a bit and it looks fantastic. All components seem to be of good quality. Yes there was a layer of oil I had to remove but I will put lemon oil back on to keep the bare metal from oxidizing in the glass shade. I think the base looks great and is of quality as well. Very nice looking Mission Styled Lamp.

Disappointed
This is my 4th Quoizel lamp. Obviously I'm attracted to what they produce. I wish I could enthusiastically endorse them. My first purchase was the Glenhaven Table Lamp. It is beautiful, and I love it. I have had it a few years, and perhaps the company standards have slipped since then.Next I purchased two "matching" lamps, but the finish differs on the two lamps. Now regarding this Indus Tiffany lamp, the heavy glass shade arrived coated with heavy, dirty, stinky oil. I emailed Quoizel and they casually replied that someone must have forgotten to clean it, adding that I should wash it. Silly me, I thought I'd bought a finished product. Incidentally, it is very large, heavy, and breakable. You can't fit it into the kitchen sink, then scrub and rinse.Additionally there was no information included with the lamp about how to clean it (is soap and water safe; is glass cleaner safe?), or information regarding the wattage limit. It wouldn't take much for Quoizel to increase their standards but they obviously don't care.I agree with another reviewer about the Indus Tiffany, the lamp looks better in the photo. What Quoizel describes as "an embroidery pattern around the border" is obviously plastic when seen in person. Seen from a distance it is an attractive lamp, but not as good as the photo.

Nice workmanship
Thought it was all plastic wen I bought. The glass is a special kind gives it a sound that mimics glass. My dog just recently caught the cord around its leg. Literally pulling it to the floor. The base, being made of resin did crack an shift. But still usable. The lamp shade took a couple of ding but did not break or loosen any joints.

2 prong plug. very pleased overall with lamp.
Very pleased with the lamp overall. I feel Quoizel quality has slipped over the years but for what is available as new purchase today, I am satisfied and enjoy the lamp. I lost a link to a customer inquiry so will say here hoping they see the post: the cord has a two pronged plug.

another excellent quoizel lamp
This is the 4th Quoizel lamp I have bought since they moved their factory to China. (You can go to the Quoizel site to read their history.) It is extremely well made, showing the slight variations in color, tiny bubbles and bumps one would expect of an Arts and Crafts type lamp as well as the modern quality of electrical and base construction. It arrived in perfect shape, fast andd free of shipping through Amazon. I wish I had more room for lamps.

High quality, glass and metal, real deal
This is a heavy, well made light. I can see my kids inheriting this. Real glass, heavy metal base, well worth the price. We own a craftsman home and it fits in beautifully.

Feels like plastic
These lamps feel like they are made out of plastic not glass. I love the design, but i have other Tiffany lamps and they look and feel like glass. These really do not look like glass and have a thick coating of something waxy on them that will not wash off. These were very expensive and I wrote the company right after getting them and told them all these things but never even heard back. To send them back was very expensive also, and was afraid to since I never heard back from the company.
