Best corned beef hash!
Saval's corned beef hash is far superior to our local diner's hash, which had been our "gold standard" until now. Savory, with true corned beef flavor, it's a winner. It can't even be compared with the canned stuff (yuck!) found in the grocery stores. The meat-to-potato ratio is so high, we added diced potatoes to absorb the wonderful flavor. Fried lose or sliced into patties, it cooks up beautifully. We have ordered it again. However, it is very expensive especially compared to the canned varieties but we think it's worth it. Perhaps there could be a discount for volume purchases. Because it freezes well, it makes for a great impromptu Sunday brunch with friends.

Expensive but tasty.
We missed the corned beef hash Rapa used to make and have never found a replacement. This one is very close and very good. However, the price was crazy high.

It's worth it!
This comes down to $14 per lb, which sounds expensive until you consider the alternative. The alternative is to make your own or to use canned corn beef hash (which isn't really an alternative). Making your own by corning your own brisket is time consuming and a huge pain, plus you have to wait 10-14 days for the beef to corn. If you use a pre-brined corn beef, its still not cheap on a unit basis because you have to measure the finished corned beef hash yield. So this product is the answer to delicious goodness. I use a hot cast iron pan to sear the outside to a crunch. An open faced biscuit, corned beef hash, topped with eggs over medium - it doesn't get any better. But it does! put a little bit of sawmill gravy on top of that widow-maker and dig in for a once every now and then indulgence. I know it's not the healthiest thing and it might knock a day or two off of my lifespan, but that would be a day or two of my last days on the planet. I don't anticipate those to be nearly as good as a day eating this breakfast (or sometimes dinner)!!

Delicious Corned Beef Hash egg rolls.
Saval Corned Beef Hash is the best tasting hash I have ever had. This comes fresh in a chub package and you can use it for so many recipes. I fried it up crispy and had with eggs, then made nachos for an appetizer and also made eggrolls and the flavor is outstanding. Its not runny or wet, and it fries up and is not greasy. So glad Amazon carries this, and I can get it anytime I want - on AMAZON!

Thawed product
I read online where this product is shipped frozen. It was thawed upon opening the package. I was disappointed because there was an odor to the taste of the product. I didn't use it right away and placed in the refrigerator. When I did heat this product I discovered it didn't taste right. Not sure if 3 day delivery works for this product. I had high expectations based on the reviews. Very disappointed.

Meh
Meh. The same finely ground, greasy hash that you get in the cans, but with a fresher, non-can taste. For $20 per pound, I expected more of a meaty texture and maybe see some of the ingredients, like maybe some green pepper. I can go to my local high-end diner and get a full breakfast -- with home-made hash -- for the same twenty.

Pretty good stuff
As a Californian, with much of the state locked down, I can no longer go to my favorite local diner for their home-made corned beef hash. Bummer! This is as close as I've come. This is tasty hash, with great flavor and not overly seasoned. I would caution a prospective purchaser to consider this: while the chubs can be frozen, that causes a problem upon thawing. There's a lot of water in the hash at that point causing it to be somewhat dry once the hash has been fried. I've I ever purchase again, which is doubtful, I will not freeze it.
