Modern Masters Volume 19: Mike Ploog (Modern Masters (TwoMorrows Publishing)) Paperback – November 11, 2008

If you love the art of Mike Ploog like I do, you'll love this book!It has many illustrations that have rarely been seen along with manyimages of his work that are more common. There is good written content,but lots of excellent images too. Very happy with it.

I'd searched for a Mike Ploog book for some years and this book was the only thing I could find. While I'm glad it exists, it's really not up to standard for a representation of his amazing work. It's printed on thin (a step above newsprint) cheap paper and the quality of the printing suffers from it, resulting in images that aren't as sharp or crisp as they could be. There's also a lot of his classic work missing from the pages. The interview that compromises most of the text of the book is nice to read and that makes it more interesting than the low quality of the product. Hopefully one day we'll get a real art book of his legacy.

A good read.

Covers a lot of ground pretty quickly. A great set of interviews with the artist but not as much art as there should be. The paper is fairly thin and a lot of the pictures are grainy from being enlarged. Finally, if you're primarily a fan of fantasy art, this is not the book for you, as it focuses mostly on Ploog's comic art.

Excellent book, great reading about Mike's work, seller good.

Mike Ploog es un autor de primera quizá poco conocido en España ya que su labor en marvel en los 70 estuvo centrada en series de terror sobre todo, que se han reeditado relativamente poco. Werewolf By Night, Frankenstein, Man-Thing. planet of the Apes...él estuvo en todas ellas, en algunas definiendolas, ya que se encargó de sus primeros números (idem para Ghost Rider etc)El libro cubre toda esta época, mas sus inicios trabajando con Will Eisner nada menos (su maestro y gran influencia estilistica), su paso por el cine, sus últimas obras...Un must be

No le pongo 5 estrellas por que desgraciadamente es en inglés, y me va a tocar tirar de traductor de google si quiero leerme la seguro interesante entrevista, en cuanto al arte es cojonudo, una maravilla, vienen incluso algunas páginas a color que por lo que me ha costado doy por bien invertido el dinero.

Per tutti gli appassionati del maestro un volume imperdibile, ben fatto, ottime recensioni, illustrazioni da grido sia B/W che a colori, prezzo contenuto e formato + grande del semplice A4, ricorda i volumi di Luis Royo e altri autori eccelsi della Taschen.Ottimo il servizio di Amazon come sempre.
