A good sugar and salt free alternative to baked beans.
Making your own baked beans instead of the ones that come out of a tin can means you can leave out the sugar and salt neither of which are good for you. There are numerous recipes on the internet for Boston baked beans that are actually baked. However, it appears that baked beans are not baked but steamed and this makes sense as it is the gentlest way of cooking beans which means they do not end up in a mush! The recipe is very easy, soak 500 grams of beans overnight or quick soak by bringing to boil and leave for an hour. Steam for about an hour moving them around about every 15 minutes so they are just cooked too long and they go a bit mushy, then gently stir in a tube of tomato puree. I freeze them but if you want less then reduce quantities accordingly. Another way of cooking these is in a pressure cooker after soaking, bring to 15lb pressure and then switch off leaving to depressure and cool, they are cooked but not mushy.

Some go mushy while some not cooked. Bit Disappointed.
Good quality, as described by seller, and great that they are organic. I cant give 5 stars because some beans go mushy before others have cooked and are hard and crunchy. I cant get them to cook at the same rate therefore one lands up with mushy beans in the pan whilst others have still not cooked. Am little disappointed.

Good clean undamaged beans
Quality control has been well followed here , in years gone by , dried pulses were a mixed bag , having to discard the odd few !
