Wright Products - Standard Duty Pneumatic Screen and Storm Door Closer, White

Highest quality door closers made. My door has one on the top and bottom to account for the heavier door. This is recommended by Wright. I bought these to replace my 25 year old door closers that were letting my door slam instantly. Now my door is back to closing slowly and perfectly. These are very easy to install and come with everything you need. I highly recommend!! Wright makes different sizes (light, medium and heavy duty) based on what size and weight your door is. If it is not sized correctly for your door it will not shut correctly. If you are replacing an existing unit make sure to replace with the same size door closer. Make sure to put screws in both slots on the door mounting bracket or the bracket will break off like in one of the other reviews.

I have 2 Larson Storm Doors, both white, both with retractable screens on my 3 season porch. For some reason, perhaps the arrival of cold weather, one of the storm doors started to slam shut. I switched door closers between the 2 doors and confirmed that the 2 storm door closers on the one door failed. I ordered these replacement storm door closers, in white, for the one door, which takes 2 closers. The were well packaged, arrived quickly, and had all the parts needed, though I only had to replace the closers and the 2 pins for each one. I will hold onto the other parts if needed later. They worked and fit perfectly! I did not need to speed up or slow down the closers via the adjustment screws as the closing speed was just right. Very happy with this product and it was at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this storm door closer. UPDATE: I just ordered 2 more identical storm door closers to use on m rear storm door.

Initial Review May 30, 2021 We, like many, have a door between the house and garage. Local laws demand that the door is self closing. When our house was built the solution was to install a spring operated door hinge. The problem is if someone fully opens the door and lets it go free it will slam very hard and make a noise heard throughout the house. I added this closer to that door, adjusted the screw, and it does the job perfectly. The door swings rapidly but then slows down when the door is about 1 foot or less from closing. It then closes at a much slower rate and the door latches. I'm wondering if I could remove the spring loaded hinge. Perhaps I'll try that. With both the hinge and his closer it takes a bit more effort to swing the door open. My only complaint is the opener only allows the door to open 90 degrees. Previously it would open about 95 degrees and we could easily latch it open. Not that big of a deal. I recommend this closer.

Purchased August 2025, stopped working in April 2026 (slammed shut not able to adjust). Contacted Wright Products, sent them proof of purchase. Next day received new door closure via UPS. New closure worked 1st time with no adjustment necessary. Great company! Stands by their warranty...

I installed an Anderson 2000 storm door less than 1 year ago, and a storm about 3 weeks ago flung the door open and bent both closers. I received this a few days ago and already I see an improvement. 1. Although this is a thicker barrel, length wise it is a perfect fit. I was able to use the bracket that was already mounted on the door. It would have installed on the bracket on the jamb as well, but the bracket was damaged by the wind. So it was a quick job to replace the jamb bracket with the one included with my purchase. 2. I paired up the lower heavy duty closer with a regular duty for the upper closer from the same manufacturer. I adjusted the top to close hard, and the bottom to close soft which worked better than trying to get both to close at the same force. Now the door closes and latches everytime. I could not get the Anderson closers to do this. 3. The door feels heavier now and is not as prone to blow open in the wind. For added measure, i installed a chain which was able to loop onto the upper closer bracket pin. It's only been a few days, so I cannot attest to the longevity yet. But if I find that they fail prematurely then I will update this review. No update means they are still working.

I have two storm doors on the backside of my house that I'm sure have been there nearly as long as the house has been. One day something snapped on one of them and it just wouldn't close the door so I searched to find a new replacement of the same brand. Overall, it was harder to remove the older closer than installing this new one. This door opens on the right side (from inside) so this closer is attached to the door frame on the left. It installs in 5 easy steps. After removing the old closer, 1) Replace the door frame bracket (4 screws) and install the new door bracket. 2) Attach the bracket to the storm door. 3) Attach the arm of the Closer to the door frame by installing the pin between the upper bracket pin holder, through the metal arm and then through the bottom of the frame bracket. 4) In the next step, extend the arm out using the "L" shaped stopper to holder the arm extended. 5) Lastly, connect the right side of the closer to the door by putting the pin though the top of the bracket, through the closer and finally through the bottom of the bracket. That's All! Need to adjust the door? On the right side of the closer is a screw (circled in red). With slight turns, you can adjust the closing. I love easy things!!!

Perfect- and easy to install. This arrived (one day) and I had it installed within 10 minutes. I spent months with a screen door that would not work properly. Ten minutes of easy installation and it works perfectly. The mounting brackets were different than the original but these brackets fit the existing holes and so on it went. No muss, no fuss. And my door works perfectly now.

This worked perfectly and was a direct replacement for the original closer on my back screen door. Just follow the directions and it will work well for you.
