Adorable dogs, a compelling mystery and super fun characters = win win!
Oh my goodness, this is such a great beginning for this new series! I absolutely loved this book. And those adorable dogs just added to how much I loved it, especially little Aggie! I hope there's another one coming up soon!Lilly Echosby had just found out her husband wanted a divorce. He was leaving her for a dumb bimbo named Bambi. The next minute he was found shot, found by said bimbo. Lilly of course was the obvious suspect. With her two grown kids in town for their dad's funeral and her bestie Dixie by her side, they were determined they were going to find the real killer and clear Lilly's name. When a second body turned up and she was blamed for that, she only became more determined to tie those two killings together. With the help of a K-9 officer named Joe and his dog Turbo, they cracked the case open and even got the mastermind of it.This was a really exciting mystery since there was more than the murder going on. Lilly being a CPA had discovered the car dealership her husband had owned had something hinky going on. Officer Joe said he'd help, which I thought was good because he did genuinely want to clear her name, but he could also keep the civilians somewhat safe. I loved reading about the SING self-defense method. I had only read one other book where it was used to take down a bad guy. It was pretty important in nailing someone in this story.I haven't despised a character as much as I loathed Bambi in forever. There have only been a handful of characters throughout the books I've read that I have literally hated or was hoping they'd become the next victim. The author must have a special gift for being able to instill that, just as she has a gift for describing and telling about adorable dogs. In one scene, I literally had leaky eyes reading about something that happened to little Aggie, the toy poodle Lilly was adopting.I liked Officer Joe an awful lot and almost hate to think about Lilly possibly leaving town. I hope that her pal Dixie stays in the story, she's such a hoot, I love her to pieces! Lilly's grown kids, Stephanie and David were amazing. They had a great relationship with their mom, but were able to show their dad the respect he needed when it was time for the funeral. I hope they make an appearance in future books too! The dogs were definitely stars as well. Poodles may not be attack dogs but just the scene of a grown man being scared when one had taken him down was so comical. What awesomely trained dogs!If you couldn't already tell, I'm very anxious for the next book in the series!

Fun new series!
Great new series! In this book, Lilly Echosby's husband has decided he wants a divorce and is seeing someone new. Before they can finalize their divorce, her husband is murdered. Now Lilly is a suspect and when an elderly neighbor is also murdered, she is suspected of killing him as well. With the help of her two children, her old friend Dixie, and a kind police officer they set out to clear Lilly's name and find out what is really going on. I loved this book! Full of great characters and poodles! I am looking forward to seeing Lilly move on with her life with a move to Tennessee and see what she and Dixie get themselves into next!

Love The Characters In This New Cozy Murder Mystery.
This is the first novel in this new cozy murder mystery series and I, for one, hope it extends into many more to come.A woman is going through a divorce. Usual tale, husband meets younger woman. Where it changes is that the spouse decides to bring his 'lady' to the actual divorce meeting. What gall? What idiocy? Are any of us surprised when the husband gets killed? Nope, but what keeps me reading was the fullness and development of each character I was introduced to.Not only was the wife someone I would enjoy meeting, I fell in love with her best friend from college, her closeness to the two children, acceptance of one of the police officers, and the dogs. Yup, three lovable and brave dogs (plus one totally likable Canine officer!)This tale quickly deviates from the normal with the shear power that the characters exhibit. I loved how our heroine, Lilly Anne tells her in-laws off. The ending was very satisfying and I love that Lilly Anne is moving on with her life.Yes, I went immediately to see if by chance there was a 'pre-order' book to come out in this series...Yes there is and it is on my order list now. This series is a keeper!

Fun Book
This is a fun book! The characters are great, especially the best friend. The plot is predictable but who cares when you’re having such a good time? No romance for the main character—a blessed relief in a cozy, to my way of thinking. Sure wish the dogs had gotten more page-time though.

Dog Lovers Dream Cozy Mystery
This is the second book by this author that I have read. I really enjoyed the first book and was looking forward to this one, which kicks off a new series. Unbelievably I loved this book even more than the other book.I loved the sleuth and her friend but even more, I loved the dogs! Even though the series is titled Dog Club Mystery, I wasn’t certain if dogs would have a good part in the books. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the author did have the dogs as part of the action, throughout the story. Yay! This was a definite win for this dog lover. The mystery was tight with several suspects and lots of motives. I am not big on going into plots. I think it ruins the fun for people who read the reviews before reading the books. The plot was excellent and the main characters likable, the dogs absolutely lovable. My recommendation is to get the book and read it. If you aren’t convinced then request the free sample. The only way to know if a book truly fits you is to try it out.
