Excellent training aid with V800 watch. Absolutely worth the price.
I purchased this as an add on to go with my newly acquired V800 watch and am very pleased with it. A little stab of fear when the packaging said 'compatible with iphone' (or something like that) but never fear, setup with the watch was trivially easy and took but seconds. In use it opens up new options on the V800 and provides MUCH better view of pace as you run - immediate feedback and no erroneous readings due to GPS errors from tall buildings or whatever. (Incidentally, in contrast to what you may read elsewhere, the V800 allows you to choose whether to use the stride sensor or GPS for speed info). I imagine the same would be true for any user running with an iphone instead of a watch as their training computer.Accuracy wise, it did take a little bit more calibration to bed in than I expected but this can be done both automatically via the GPS and manually. Different calibration settings can be stored by sport eg treadmill running, road running, etc. which I thought is pretty good and helps to optimize accuracy (on the V800).

Brilliant
Absolutely essential for my treadmill and zwift app. Accurate as well.

Polar BLE stride sensor
Interfaces to the Polar paid for app without any problems on an iPhone. I don't know what it does on the free appCalibrating on a treadmill is ok as you know the distance you have covered. I don't know how easy it would be if you were on the road unless you used a GPS app as well to get you exact distance. When I bought it I expected it to operate as a pedometer as well but it doesn't seem to perform this function. If anyone out there knows if there is a way to do this please post

Perfect does what it says
I'm using this through an apple TV box to run on zwift. Once calibrated it's absolutely spot on. Definitely recommend this especially if you want to go on zwift to run with a treadmill

Polar Stride Sensor.
I have given it only a one star. As a confirmed Polar user, it’s difficult to justify, but.........!To me it’s useless. I use an IOS System as my primary recording system. Which is excellent. However, my mobile is an Android Samsung and it doesn’t work. Won’t pair, sync or do anything! In short it don’t work! It’s a waste unless you have an IOS system. It’s a shame Polar don’t highlite this. IOS ONLY.

Works well with Zwift
I ordered this to use with the Zwift app, and it does the job very well. The pod fits well in it's holder and I don't notice it when I run. A good buy.

Good for Zwift on iOs, does not work with android.
I bought this to use zwift on a treadmill. It works well with the ipad, however it still does not pair with android, so it means that I cannot use it on the larger screen of my laptop, as Zwift on pc requires the bluetooth connection through a phone.Aside from that, it is larger than expected and other devices I've seen, but does seem to track my pace on the treadmill fairly well - it seems t have a delay getting up-to speed. It also only comes with one holder, which is a pain if you want to use it on multiple shoes.

Great product but limited apps that support at moment
Great product works very well with the polar beat iphone app, but that is where it ends as so far I have not found any of my other apps support it, which includes Endomundo and Pear. I have therefore found I do not use it as the Polar app just does not offer enough.

Does what it is supposed to
I received this as a present to be mainly used to integrate running in Zwift (using a treadmill without bluetooth). So far I haven't taken it outside to test it out, but it seems pretty durable and has a silicone sleeve that the sensor sits into. There is a small 'latch' that ensures it doesn't come loose while moving. Based on how stiff the battery compartment was to take off and the build of the device, I imagine it would hold up well to the elements.I appreciated that it also came with an extra battery, and can't comment yet on battery life.Importantly it connected flawlessly with both my Garmin watch and my computer which is running Zwift. After calibrating it, I was off running in the virtual world!I didn't want to spend a fortune on a foot pod, and for the price it works very well.

Doesn't work with Polar's own software
Very disappointed that I didn't find out that Polar's own software on Android is not compatible with this. Had to find out by a google search which took me to a very well buried help article on polar's site, along with a number of Reddit threads, so I'm not the only who's been screwed by this. I may yet keep it because it seems to work with Strava (at least, Strava detects it - I can't tell if it's data is actually being used in any way) and Zwift which I use when I'm on a treadmill at the gym and I don't really want to go through a research project to find another one.
