Feadog Brass C Whistle Pack - I really love it!
I was extremely happy when I received it I could jump off a cliff! The shipping was quick and efficient!I love my new whistle as it is the key that we need (We have 3 Ds already!) . It is my first time to own a Feadog (it is not sold in my location so I have to buy it from Amazon UK) and it is really great! Wonderful sounding that I can play along with my band. One of the beat kept secrets in Irish whistling circles.
As an experienced semi professional whistle player I have paid a lot, lot more for a great deal less. This has a traditional Irish whistle tone and feels good to hold and play. Like all such instruments, you need to get used to it before you can hope to bring out the best in tonal qualities. If you are a complete beginner (and I have taught a few) 'c' is a good sized whistle to start with and you need to pay no more and look no further. Some reviews are critical of the tone in the second octave. Do not be put off by this as it probably says more about the player than the whistle itself. I have tried out hundreds of whistles and only a few (that had poorly finished plastic fipples) did not produce at the very least a reasonable tone, when blown well.

Not in tune at all!

Quarter of a tone out of tune
...thought it didn't sound right and the tuner confirmed it registering as a very flat C# - so not just just out of tune but registering the wrong note completely.Though the instructions didn't say as much I'd remembered that warming the plastic mouthpiece in water and pulling and this might move the mouthpiece sufficient to tune it - in the end the amount of violence required pulled it right off but luckily with no damage and I've been able to re-attach sufficiently securely that I think it's ok to use. This has moved the mouthpiece a full 10mm from where it started.So, pretty poor really - though I have been left with a working, sufficiently in-tune whistle.
