Safety 1st Foam Fireplace Guard

I have a larger fireplace, without edges to speak of, so I actually had to buy two packages and cut the straight pieces to fit and then used the corner pieces to cover the self made corner.

I had this at another house I lived in and when I moved and it had a fireplace I new I had to get this again. Works great and is very easy to install

Have a standard 5' bluestone hearth on brick fireplace, very common throughout new england. The pieces come a couple inches short of the length, requiring an ugly splice of a small piece, which leaves one side a couple inches shorter than the other for it's borrowed piece. the sections are different sizes/thicknesses as well, making adjoining pieces not line up. This creates an uneven eyesore noticeable from across the room. The shiny lettering saying made in china also is unavoidable to be placed prominently on top because of the 3M tape placement. Turns my standard, not so pretty fireplace into an ugly sight. Would choose a different brand next time in hopes the pieces are at least the same size as each other.

I purchased two of these kits to put on the edge of my stone fireplace to protect my 1 year old grandson's head as he is learning to walk. I have had them on for about 2 months now and they have worked out fantastic. I did add layer of double stick mounting tape to the front edge of the bumper based on the some of the comments I saw in the reviews about them not sticking well. I also followed the directions closely for cleaning the stone surface prior to putting the guards on. I have not had any issues with the foam detaching from the stone and I have observed several incidences where my grandson bumped his head on the foam, saving him from a nasty bruise. He also uses the foam to lift himself to standing position and still no sign of the foam detaching from the stone. I would highly recommend the product.

Product was easy to assemble but are two issues with this product:1) Adheres poorly to some brick finishes. At 8 months my child was able to rip each section off the fireplace.2) At 8 months my teething child decided this was a great thing to chew.I ended up having to remove this for safety concerns. Overall, if you have a child that has zero interest in the fireplace then this is a great product. If your child loves the fireplace I wouldn't recommend it.

Product was supposed to be new instead it had been used and was filthy. As the pictures show there is trash all on the sticky under parts. This was really disgusting. Three of the pieces were stuck together also used.

These are great for tile fireplaces and little ones. The only thing I wish is that they stuck on better. Little ones can easily pull these off

It does the job but it is way too expensive for how much you get. And it comes off way too easily as there is only adhesive backing on one side. I had to reinforce with duck tape. If you have pets make sure you reinforce it well. Overall adequate but price too high I will not buy it at the regular cost again. It is a nice matte black though so 3 stars as it is asthetically pleasing.

Pretty decent for what we needed. Fits our 6ft hearth well. Wish it came with extra 3M strips but that’s not a deal breaker. Would recommend to keep the fireplace edges safe from babies & toddlers.
