Review: Generalism, Minimalism, and Getting The Most Out Of The KB. - This is a great intro to kettlebells and to Pat Flynn. Pat begins the book by introducing you to his fitness philosophy (and frankly life philosophy). This philosophy is the overarching theme of his books and podcast. It can be summed up as a the combination of generalism (being good at many things, not overemphasizing/specializing in any one quality) and minimalism (doing so in the most efficient way possible). When it comes to fitness, developing most qualities to an above average level and preparing oneself generally for all possible tasks, this is referred to as training for general physical preparedness. He has stated many a time that the kettlebell is the best tool for this job. You'll learn why that is in this book. You'll learn to move well under load, improve flexibility, strength, power, conditioning, and more with the help of one simple tool. You can tailor your training to lose fat or to gain muscles as well. The books is accompanied by video demonstrations that are of relatively high quality. They show a multitude of angles and play in slow motion while highlighting some of the cues mentioned in the book a few times. I would have liked to see the setup for some of the exercises also included in the videos, but the instruction in the book is sufficient. There are other books out there that will give you a minimalist KB program for the development of general physical preparedness. Some of those books are even more minimalist. One in particular only uses two exercises. However, the program provided in this book regularly exposes you to all of the fundamental kettlebell exercises. It looks like fun and provides a good deal of variety while allowing for enough overlap that you will have sufficient practice in all the movements throughout the week. For $1.00, a must buy. No brainer. Review: For me, well worth the low price of this ebook - I'm sure you can find all this information online or on YouTube. In fact, the book seems like an advertisement for the authors other products. That said, however, it's useful, simple, and contains many links I can follow for more if it grabs my fancy. Each of the simple Kettlebell exercises has a description, pictures, and a link to a video. I'm still just learning the basic moves, but he has a section that suggests a workout schedule which I have not evaluated. My objective in purchasing this was to find some useful simple exercises I can do with the set of Kettlebells I already own. It's going to do that well! I can read the book on my Kindle, but it's much better to read it on an iPad, or computer so you get full color pictures, and of course the video links from YouTube. Color pictures add a lot! My favorite feature of the book is that it's short, simple and clear. Even the videos it links to are short, simple and clear, frankly much better done that I was expecting. If you want to learn what Kettlebells can do for you, it's a great start. I'm happy!

If you were curious about kettlebells and wanted to just try it out, I encourage you to start with this e-book. The information and exercises give you an excellent foundation for starting an exciting fitness journey and there are workouts you can use to get started right away. If you already actively use kettlebells and even consider yourself an expert on the subject, this little book reviews the detailed nuances of the best, basic kettlebell moves and, if you concentrate on the smaller details of each movement, you may be surprised at what you learn and discover there are probably things you can still improve on. If you are interested in beginning or improving any kind of fitness routine at all, I highly recommend this book. Plus, it's a dollar. So there's that, too. Hope you enjoy! :)

Excellent Beginners Level intro to the Standard Kettle Bell movements
This is an excellent beginners level intro to the Standard Kettle Bell movements, assuming you have a fair level of experience with picking weights and knowing your limits. I feel like there should be at least a single chapter in the beginning that helps you determine where and how you should be doing this and how to pick you starting weights. As well as how to know when to progress into heavier kettlebells. I like the videos, as they really helped me see anf feel the movements.

Simple straight forward
Pat Flynn is a great coach who explains things in a simple way. All the staple excerises are explained in a way you can read it and know how to do it, if you want a 30 page breakdown of the hinge pattern this book isn't for you. It also has pictures of him doing said excerises. This book is great for beginners or someone who wants a little reset in their program back to the fundamentals. Also in side the book is a 7 day program you can do for a month, and than links and ways to other workouts you can try. Pat Flynn is definitely someone you should follow especially if you're a beginner with kettlebells!

Solid, short, effective
Exercise descriptions were easy to understand, images were helpful, and I will be able to go back and use this book as a tool when I need to brush up on technique in the future. It was a very quick read and I found it to be helpful. It didnโt blow me away, but it did the job. Solid 3 out of 5.
