Truper 33437 Tru Pro California Trenching Shovel, 5-Inch Blade, Fiberglass Handle, 10-Inch Grip, 48-Inch

This tool is exceptional for narrow and relatively shallow trenching. After my first use at my son’s ranch I ordered one for my personal tool inventory. You may not use it very often but you will smile when you need it.

I've never used a trenching shovel prior to this one. It is night and day different vs a sharp shooter type or any other type you might have thought to use. I had even tried some good post hole diggers and other then a 4" increase in my biceps they didn't work well. This thing is sturdy and the angle is perfect for me.

Shovel so far seems sturdy, although our soil is mostly sand. Things to note: Not made for taller people, unless you don't mind the stooping to dig and scoop. Another 6 inches added would have made it highly useful for shorter and taller folks alike.Furthermore, a slick shovel/spade surface is important to slide through soil and then release it. If you really need to attach a large label on the shovel, at least make it a peel-off label, vs. leaving the owner to deal w/annoying task of difficult removal of paper and adhesive.

Did not last long, less than 1 year

I had never used a trench digging tool like this before. Doing some landscaping in our backyard required a long section of trench to be dug for a french drain. I started the trench with a regular shovel and it was slow going and messy. Especially in the hard and sand-mixed-with-clay soil by my house. This tool made it a snap. It cut right through the sand and clay. It made it easy to leave a nice even clean line when it dug. It's not too often I am really impressed by a new tool, but this definitely was a great purchase for the job at hand. I'd definitely recommend

Who would have thought you could get a shovel shipped to your front door in two days (for free with Prime)? I needed a 4 inch wide trenching shovel for a project at home. I first checked on AMZN to see what there was on the market, then went to my local "big box" home improvement store to buy it, thinking it would be cheaper. The store was noticeably more expensive for comparable (not including the sales tax!) shovels. Thus, I returned home and ordered this Truper 33436 Trenching Shovel.I am a little dissapponted it is not American made. But Mexico is at least on the same continent, a NAFTA (for better or for worse) partner and is a country which is not continually trying to hack my bank accounts, so I can overlook that.Actual shovel is well made. Sturdy fiberglass handle with rubberized grips is strong but not overly heavy. Blade is thick and any welds look professional and precise. I'm pleased with it and believe it will serve my specific need well. Would buy again without hesitation.

This was a handy tool to have when digging a trench! Would definitely recommend it!

Bought 4 of these shovels , used them for one month and two shovels snapped . The shaft is fine but the shovel part right off where it meets the bracket on the shaft . Not very durable if I can’t dig holes without worrying about the shovel snapping off . Metal is not very durable at all .

Works good. Sturdy.
