The first two times I received a 5lb block it was smooth, and very thick. Not grainy. This last order it was very loose, not thick and grainy. Which was disappointing. That said, the “ grainy” is actually just tiny pieces of butter that when applied to the skin melts quickly and blends right in. But I still wish it was smooth in texture as it’s been in the past. I make products with this so it makes a huge difference as far as being smooth and creamy goes. It’s time to reorder and I’m trying to decide if I want to keep with this company or try out a new one. All seem to have both good and negative reviews across the board. I will say there were no bugs or specs or anything in any of the batches I’ve received so that’s good. I’ll probably give em another go. I’ll update this review once new shipment is received.

This!!! Is a great product. If you're an herbalist, like myself,you will find this a perfect product to use in salves, cream,or lotion. But even if you're not a "mixer" of productsthis butter can be used straight from it's container.It has a light scent, which tells me this is a pure productthat you can use with confidence.

I have ordered this product from this company for several years and always been very pleased with the quality, however, the last several 5 lb. slabs I have ordered have been super grainy and loose almost powdery in texture. I tried melting it down and refrigerating it to try and get a better texture but it was still terribly grainy. Will be looking for a new supplier.

But works wonderfully. Will buy again.

I buy this all the time. I make my own lotions and this is one of my bases I use. Shea is the best for dry skin. I need this in the winter. Great buy. I can make my lotion in bulk with how much you get.

I use this Shea butter to make my own whipped Shea butter otherwise it is thick but still keeps you moisturized.

The price is GREAT & Does the job on MY STUBBORN SKIN (IT KEEPS MY ECZEMA IN CHECK!) Is why I gave this an All star but, Buyer beware the 5lb Block & the 10lb , IS ADVERTISED THE SAME AS THEIR 32 0z Container WHICH SMELLS YUMMY GOOD 😉,BUT THE BLOCKES SMELL YUCKY LIKE MUD. I THINK THAT STINKS( LITERALLY 🤣)!
