took a chance and was extremely happy with my decision
I was a little leery to purchase this because it didn’t have any reviews, didn’t qualify for prime and was coming internationally (estimated arrival 3-4 weeks after purchase) but I was REALLLLLY wanting to purchase a wooden stacking rainbow for my little one. after researching various ones, I found that the majority of the ones sold on amazon all had slanted bases so you couldn’t stack them. I had my eye on another one that sounded promising and had all the things I was looking for...but then when I went to purchase, it was sold out and they said they weren’t sure when they would be back in stock. 😢😢😢 I decided to take a chance with this one. it looked like this one would meet all my requirements (no slanted base so it would be stackable) and shipping was free. I placed the order on monday september 16 knowing it might be a month later that it arrived. well imagine my surprise when there was a knock at my door and laying there was a package. I seriously said out loud...”noooo this CANT be the wooden rainbow toy I ordered...” but to my surprise it WAS the wooden rainbow toy. it arrived about a week after I placed the order...I mean it isn’t as good as prime but the fact it came all the way from India...I am SUPER impressed!!! so I open the box and my 2 year old is already wanting to play with it. my first impression is the texture isn’t smooth like other rainbows because it’s not varnished. for some people this might be an issue but with a 2 year old stacking these, the texture actually helps the pieces stack and stay stacked. the base on each piece is level so they stack beautifully (see my pics!) and stay stacked. also another thing I love is that the purple piece is INDEED dark purple and NOT lavender (another reason I chose this one over others)I just wish they would also make pastel and natural wood rainbows as well. there are so many regular colored wooden rainbows. I would love to find an affordable pastel one as well***EDITED TO ADD NEW PICTURE OF MY LITTLE ONE PLAYING WITH THE RAINBOW STACKER AND WOODEN IKEA TRAIN SET***my little one set up her wooden ikea train set and then used the larger pieces of the rainbow stacker to make bridges and tunnels. the yellow made a perfect bridge. the green, blue and purple pieces were too small to place over the tracks but we stacked those on the larger pieces.

Chitrani Rainbow Review/Needs To Ship In A Box!
This Chitrani 6 stacker rainbow arrived in a thin envelope mailer. I believe the item comes from India and would benefit shipping in a box. I opened my mailer and the product box holding my little rainbow looked ancient and dusty, fully opened and beaten up. The liner within the box holding the rainbow was ripped. The rainbow itself looked mostly okay, but I am exchanging. The rainbow looks pretty good quality. It's not as thick as Grimms, but it's a good smaller piece. I will look forward to one arriving in newer shape. Update-reordering didn't make a difference. It arrives in an envelope mailer each time, even if I try to order multiple things to try to get them to group in a box. It's just not happening.Note this Chitrani rainbow has 6 colors, not 7, so if that matters to you, this rainbow is not technically great for teaching children all colors of the rainbow. It is pretty though, 'grippy' for stacking and colors are nice.BELOW: Comparing the "Chitrani" vs "MonTOYsori" 6 Stacker RainbowsI ended up finding another similiar small, 6 stacker rainbow on Amazon that's also a nice option to check out called the MonTOYsori rainbow ($30) and I will do a quick comparison to this Chitrani which is $25.COMPARISON: The MonTOYsori colors are double painted twice for durability and the bottom base piece is much larger than the Chitrani rainbow. I looked at both models in person, and the Chitrani has a little more of a rustic, mellowed out look. The MonTOYsori is overall larger and brighter. Both of the rainbows felt 'grippy' if you plan for your child to use dolls with them/plan to stack. The MonTOYsori colors pop more and are a little less streaky, and it’s noticeably thicker than the Chitrani. The Chitrani does have a nice sort of 'barnyard rustic chic' type look. The MonTOYsori came with information about registering for product warranty, while the Chitrani did not. The MonTOYsori product box is very 'giftable' in presentation, while I would not suggest the Chitrani box as being whatsoever giftable unless you plan to somehow take the rainbow out of the box yourself and wrap it. It really comes down to your preference in style-the Chitrani is smaller and more rustic looking, while the MonTOYsori is larger and a little brighter.A note about the MonTOYsori-it was it was difficult to get a good one. The first arrived with a big dark smudge on one part of the rainbow, and the second time a small chip was out of one piece of the wood. Not trying to be picky, but these aren't cheap either and are also a display piece. The Chitrani also had issues getting a quality rainbow-the box was absolutely ancient and it definitely got banged around. Seems to just be an issue with these rainbows in general kind of a 'luck of the draw' getting a perfect one!

Good Quality
This is exactly what I was looking for! The pieces are flat on top, not slanted like some of the rainbows I've seen, so they can stack up. The wood is stained rather than painted so the pieces are slightly rough, which makes them easier to stack up and feel more natural. It's very cute and a reasonable price!

Love this rainbow
I love this rainbow. It’s not large, but just right for small hands and it’s not overwhelming. My babe is 14mo. Too much or too big and she’s not interested. The colors are darker then pictured, but they are rich and beautiful. Considered purchasing the twice as expensive Grimms, but glad I didn’t.

Great replacement for grimms
Really good quality and stacks very easily. Perfect replacement for grimms as it’s the same style light weight wood and doesn’t have the thick paint some other options on amazon has.

Beautiful blocks
Beautiful colour with light weight for children but the paint seems not durable enough for children play

DO NOT BUY
This came in a box that looked 50 years old. Dust, dog hair and god knows what all over it. I should have taken pictures and sent it back, but I was so grossed out I threw away the box and wrapped the rainbow up for christmas. I realized its WAYYYY smaller and not 3.5 in thick! WASTE OF MONEY

NOT impressed
Really not impressed at all with this rainbow. The product box it arrived in was falling apart with loose staples, giving it a very ungiftable appearance. The colours are not as pictured, they are much darker. The rainbow looked cheap and dull compared to others. I ended up returning this one and buying a much nicer one

Versatile toy. But only six colours in this rainbow!
Good quality product , solid wood and bright colours, but one star less because it has only six of the rainbow colours, not seven. Becomes difficult when you want to teach the kid all the rainbow colours. Not sure why they left out one color. Would have been great if it had all 7.
