I wanted a "pencil magnet" to use for my home bike workshop to help deal with ball bearings without them falling all over, and this does the trick nicely. It's slim and feels like a quality pen in your hand at ~ 4.75 inches long. It extends quickly and easily to 24" and in my test seemed capable of the 2lb pickup claim. The pocket clip is handy though it takes two hands to put on a thicker fabric. It's also a bit more flexy than might work to pick up heavier objects from a tough spot. Still, it's more than capable for my needs and I imagine it will be great for grabbing stuff out of vents or other random uses around the house.
