Son Loves It
My son is 5, is in Pre-K, and loves this book. His dad is a policeman and he is currently fascinated with anything police-related to the point where he has to approach every police officer we see when we are out and about. He also loves Lego. The story itself is nothing particularly special but the Lego aspect of it makes it fun as Legos usually do. The cover on the copy we got was different, though. It doesn't matter to us but I thought I'd mention it anyway. He could read most of the book by himself when we got it and was able to read it aloud to his class today for reading time. There were two or three sentences a page and the words were just the right length. We've found that not all "Level 1" books are created equal and some are too easy and some are too difficult. This one was just right.I will definitely be buying the other books in the series.

Not many words BUT some good challenger words!
My son who is winding up his Kinder year (homeschool) must read a new book aloud everyday. I'm always looking for high-interest books while trying to keep it age/level appropriate. I'll admit, I purchased this solely for the interest (he loves Legos), but secretly wished this title (or similar) was offered at a Level 3.He tends to get excited over books, but I have never seen him light up the way he did when this came out of the box! The first thing I noticed was that it did not offer very many words per page (fitting for a level 1), but I was pleased to see several challenging words in the short sentences.A few good challenger words are: sirens, video, questions, officerBottom line: he LOVED the story, and illustrations, and he also loved watching his Lego sets come to life. I have purchased several Lego themed readers, and we have been pleased with all of them. I highly recommend these high-interest readers for any Lego fan!

Good bed-time reading for 4 year-old
This was a good, quick bedtime reading story for my 4 year-old. When he's starting to read on his own this will probably be a very good one for him to read. He liked it but he didn't love it. These Level 1 Reader books are a bit too short and simplistic for parents to read to the child. It takes just a few minutes (if you take your time) to get thru the whole thing, you'd have to read at least 2 (or more) at this level for your child to be satisfied. The simplistic story telling style probably would have been great if my kid was a bit younger still, or if he was reading on his own. That being said, he did like it some and we will read it again (combined with one of the level 2's).

Interesting Plot
Again, another good Lego reader for the K-2nd grade crowd. My 3 and 6 year old grand sons love the Lego City series of books. Definitely helps the reading learning process. Highly recommend this to your reader list. This has not been a challenge for 6 year old home schooled grandson. Very easy to read by himself and to his 3 year old brother.

My 6 year old loves it
I recently purchased this book for my 6 year old son.The bank just got robbed by 3 crooks and it is up to the police to find them and save the day. My son really enjoyed this book. Some of the illustrations go along with some of the lego kits he has. Easy, understandable text and great illustrations. A must own for the lego lover that is beginning to read.

Lego fan!
My son is a huge lego fan so when I purchased this for him to learn how to read, I was pleasantly surprised at how fast he was willing to pick up the words from the story. Since then, he has received the whole collection and is an avid reader of lego stories. Great book for beginning readers.

great for pre-reader/reader esp for boys
great for pre-reader/reader esp for boys. They can read the simple sight words and it’s a good story. My grandson loves the Lego books. Big hit with the 5 year-old set.

Good Primer
My son will read but finds it boring and so at times seems slow, but like a lot of young children he absolutely loves Lego and these books are absolutely wonderful to him. He notices things in the illustrations and asks questions about them, and also finds ideas for his own projects. So I would reccommend this book to anyone who has a young child who likes Lego, but is bored by reading lessons.

Brilliant
We got this for our 6 year old son who was struggling to read - he was just not interested in the books which he bought home from school and the library could provide no better. He loved them and really tried to read them himself - I think that these series of books really helped him turn the corner.
