Interesting story with four sharp cliffhanger endings
The books have an interesting story about a girl and her brother who have been handed off by their uncle to an odd older man for money. The main character - Isadora (Isa) - learns she's bound for a school to be taught magic (rather than staying with her verbally abusive uncle.) The rest of the plot revolves around the struggles against an association of evil sorcerers who want to reveal the presence of magic to the world at large and enslave people using dark magic. While there are good aspects to the books in this omnibus volume, each "book" ran about 100 pages on my Kindle, and ended in a razor sharp cliffhanger. Also, it doesn't seem as though there's a substantial amount happening in each book. The first book is mostly Isa getting from the scene of an initial battle to the location of the proposed school. It's as if the first Harry Potter book ended as soon as Harry got to the doors of Hogwarts. The students at the school have a few lessons in the succeeding books, but they're brief and usually interrupted after 5-10 minutes. The 4 books span the events of 3-4 days total.Overall, I liked the main characters and some of the world building done by the author. However, there didn't seem to be a lot happening - possibly one main scene per book. It felt like there wasn't an opportunity for the characters to do much besides watch the wizards who were going to staff this new school come and go in their war against the evil wizards.

Harry Potter Type Books
I liked books 1-4. Probably more of a young adult book than I usually read. But a good clean one!

Not 4 books in one, just a single book disguised as 4
Not a bad story not a good one but not a bad 1 there is no connection between the previous books that introduced the main character of the Academy And that book in fact it was disconcerning at 1st until I realize that these characters what the one from a previous book I read months ago. You might enjoy the story I leave it up to you

Stop writing only part of the story.
Is book is 1 - 4 of a 13 book series. I'm going to post this review to all 4 since it covers them all.Well written books and a fun story ruined by being broken up into little pieces. Authors really need to stop wasting their time and our money trying to get us buy books that are not whole.

Great read
I enjoy your books very much. If I could afford to buy them I would like to have them all. I have limited income and need to rely on the book bub for my reading. I read way to fast to buy books. Keep up the great stories.

Very nice
While I would consider it more like ACTs in a play then individual books it was still good. I liked the characters. Clara most of all. Mrs. Ashta did a fantastic job making the bad guys out to be bad guys without an acceptable "side" to their story. Oh, and of course there's a dragon. After all the best stories of all times simply *must* have a dragon in them. While I'm not willing to classify this story as one of the Immortal ones, it's certainly a very good one. Well worth reading. I don't recall any editing errors but I was so engrossed in the story I might not be the best judge for that. The end while not quite a cliffhanger (from the first person MCs POV) does however leave you with a nasty hook. Is Miss P. going to be all right? Luckily when writing this the 2nd book is already out. Though honestly she really should have stopped this book right before the last chapter as it was a near perfect place. I tend to black list and give 1* to authors that use cliffhangers on principle as I was taught it was very bad form and a sign of subpar talent that almost always continues once started.

Great Read!
Great coming of age magical storytelling! Looking forward to the next adventures after returning to the academy thru a a portal created by the one most in doubt and denial of her skills!!

Magic War gears up with students teachers and magical creatures
Good stories all geared toward introducing you to this world and the characters in it. More of a prequel to book two, it feels to me. Entertaining read regardless. The big baddies are a group attempting to murder or imprison the magic users defending humans, magical creatures and other magic users. Good versus Bad with magic. Several late teen students get to the Academy but their journey is fraught with danger. Two are brother and sister with no previous exposure to magic whatsoever. Two are brother and sister with only the most basic magic learned. One distraction after another keeps the teachers from actually starting classes. There has been one short history class and one short transformation class in all four books. The Academy is newly formed and in the process of recruiting students and teachers. And Protectors. They face a formidable group of evil magic users who feel entitled to rule the world and everything in it, using Dark magic against the Good magic users who are few in number.

Takes time to get there but then it delivers
Takes time to get there but then it delivers I felt it took a very long time to develop. It was slow moving, I felt the relationship between siblings was strange. Not enough magic. But I enjoyed it. Her teenage angst was true and I felt she would end up very strong and probably the best magician there.

Promising start to clean young adult magic series.
Promising start to clean young adult magic series. The narration is spot on, easy to listen to and a nice voice. I had not come across this author before and thought by the writing that she was not too experienced and these were early books in her writing experience. Maybe that is the case and further books get stronger, she certainly has many books, decent reviews and ratings now. Suitable for ages 10 and over. Can't complain about the price, good value there.
