My daughter always wanted to be held while I was cooking so she could see what was on the counter. It was hard to get anything done. Ever since I bought this it has made my life easier and she is much happier in the kitchen now that she can see. One down side is that she is old enough to push it around the room and now uses it to move to the light switches and other areas of the counter she is not supposed to touch if you don’t watch her.

Everything about this step stool is great, except for one thing-it can tip over! We’ve had this for a couple months and have always wondered if our 2 yr old could tip it. While this morning she proved this by leaning way over the side. By some stroke of good fortune I caught her before her head hit the ground. Had I not then she would have hit really hard!! I cannot stress enough how dangerous these stools can be! While this stool is likely no better or worse than others, it’s inherently unstable without modification. Either it needs to be fastened to a wide platform that extends well beyond the width of the unit, or it somehow needs to lock into the counter. I went the latter route as you can see in my pictures. This is by far the better option and it’s 100% safe no matter how far your child leans over. However it’s not a simple modification.

This fantastic addition makes it easy for our granddaughter to get into the kitchen action safely. She colors, we cook. She makes play-doh food and feels a part of the fun. Easy in, easy out (maybe after a knock on the noggin or two) and she loves pushing it from kitchen island to the bathroom to brush those pearly whites!!

Easy to assemble, sturdy and good material. I order the natural wood color, and received one in black. But it is very easy to clean

This is a great way for your kid to be able to be independent. Light weight, and a good night for my two year old. Legs seem a little thin but it will do the job. Great buy and kids product.

I got this for my 80 yr mother. She wanted a small printer that copied and scanned. I am not a tech savvy person and I was able to set it up and connect to wireless. So far, so good!

Updated review after 3 months of use: my now-17-month-old uses this regularly. He loves the ability to climb up and be at the countertop with us, so this is an item that we use daily. Unfortunately, I stand by my original review that this is really not sturdy. If you look at the design, it's a bit top heavy and the legs aren't sturdy to prevent tipping. There have been a few times when he's gotten unsteady on his feet and I've had to help catch him from falling. I don't trust this piece of equipment, unfortunately, and that's the whole point of it - to have a safe place to put your child while you're cooking/eating/painting/etc. with them. What's ridiculous is that this item is supposed to be for 18 months+ and my child isn't even there yet, but he's too "big" or whatever (and he's a pretty average sized toddler) because it just can't support any unsteadiness. And every toddler is unsteady for a while - especially ones who have been only walking ~6 months or so. It looks like it's too late to get a refund, which really sucks, because we wasted our money and I think we're going to have to buy another one. There's no way we'll be able to use this much longer for our son as he continues to grow, and now that we have another child on the way, I know this won't stand up to another kid's use. What a disappointment.---Original review:We bought this for my (large) 14-month-old to use in our kitchen. My husband assembled it fairly quickly, though one of the pieces (actually, the top front piece which is visible) cracked down the middle when he screwed into it. It's not broken, so we're just using it like that.The assembled item itself is not particularly steady on our tiled kitchen floor. I am comparing to a plastic one my mom purchased for her own kitchen, which just felt much more steady and sturdy. I don't feel like I can walk away with him in this quite yet and it may be a while before I can. If he leans too far in one direction, I'm worried it'll fall over.My recommendation would be to spend a bit more money on something sturdier.

My kids love this ladder. No more heavy lifting for me. They can easily climb up into the ladder and reach the faucet and soap to wash their own hands. My kids are 2yr & 4yr so we will be using this for the next few years. It's a very safe alternative to climbing on a barstool/chair/counter. We move it around the kitchen when cooking, etc.
