“A treasure trove . . . what Yoga, capital Y, is all about. ” —Donna Farhi “Nothing less than a gem.” —Judith Lasater “A vital tool.” — Book Riot This daring, visionary book revolutionizes yoga practice, making it truly accessible to everyone—in every body, at any age, and in any state of health Yoga practice has so much to offer us physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. But many of us feel discouraged to practice because we see young, slim, flexible, well, and able-bodied people dominating yoga spaces. Yet, yoga is truly a practice for all—conferring enormous benefits to our overall well-being as our bodies change, age, and navigate various health challenges. Jivana Heyman, founder of Accessible Yoga, views yoga as a basic human right—saying we all deserve to practice it in whatever state we find our body or mind. Accessible Yoga offers a simple, clear, and wonderfully adaptable practice for all people regardless of ability, health, and body type. Heyman has spent over twenty years sharing yoga with people of all abilities and backgrounds, and in this book, he shares his knowledge by breaking down complex yoga poses, breathing practices, meditation techniques, and yoga teachings into clearly understandable and practical tools we can use every day, regardless of our limitations or challenges. Review: This book is an absolute must for EVERYONE! - Was in a 200HR Yoga Training and put my back out. This book changed the game for me and helped me continue moving with caution and ability. I thought the reviews were being exaggerative, but no. This is an absolute must for anyone beginning their journey of yoga. And darn it, it's just a good book to have in general! People should move their bodies more!! Review: So impactful - This was a required book for a yoga course I took and I did not expect it to be so impactful on my experience. I realize how ignorant I was to accessible yoga as a concept and practice. Simply reading the introduction was a whole revelation for me already. I am grateful for the resource this book is and how my mind has been opened as a new yoga teacher.

EVERY YOGA STUDENT AND TEACHER NEEDS THIS BOOK
Accessible Yoga is the yoga book we need right now. In clear, concise language, and with many stunning photos, the book describes an inclusive practice that everyone can do on their path to healing regardless of age, privilege or physicality. Along with a community of teachers and activists, Jivanna shares powerful tools to find the essence of a yoga pose (props, chairs, the floor) plus how to meditate or practice self-care in a way that not only a beginning practitioner can grasp, but also an advanced yogi can find new insights. There is so much experience and knowledge here from so many years of practice and teaching students and teachers to teach students and teachers. Most importantly, Accessible Yoga reminds us that Yoga is for all bodies, not just white, thin, flexible, privileged women in bikinis on Instagram. This is the essence of yoga-- that ANYONE can practice it at any age or anywhere in any physical state. This is a truth that modern postural yoga has forgotten and that ACCESSIBLE YOGA reminds us. It should be a part of every yoga school curriculum. I learned so much and you will too!!!!

A Must Read Yoga Book
Whether you are a yoga student, yoga teacher or both, this book is an absolute must to add to the yoga section of your bookshelf. I appreciate this book from both perspectives. As a person who struggles with some physical challenges in my body, this book is a beautiful guide and invitation for me to look at practicing in the way that is best for my body. There are so many variations! As a yoga teacher of people experiencing challenges with their bodies, this book is an invaluable resource that supports both teacher and student as we collaborate to find what works best for their bodies. This should be required reading for all YTT200 trainings as well. It's beautifully photographed and shows the many possibilities yoga offers. If you can breathe, you can do yoga! This book shows you how!

Inspiration on Yoga for Everybody
In Jivana's book "Accessible Yoga" he has created hope and inspiration for the growing movement of yoga practitioners and potential yoga practitioners who want to practice yoga for a lifetime. He is living proof of how one embodies the science of yoga at a time when the Western yoga world has reached a crossroads. "Practice is like an archaeological dig, and asana is my shovel." Splendid work, keep it up. Camella Nair Author of "Aqua Kriya Yoga and "Prenatal Kriya Yoga"

A gem of a book. Wise and practical.
What a gem of a book. I heartily recommend it. Nicely structured and easy to read. Jivana Heyman illustrates the importance of making the Yoga practice accessible to all individuals, no matter their abilities. Furthermore, the book gives numerous examples how to adapt Asana, Pranayama and Meditation to the individual level and need. Yoga is for everyone. “Outer ability does not equal inner peace”.
