Once you start, you won’t stop ...
Fast moving & pacy thrill ride, with bullet head thug Parker, he’s certainly a tough customer, reminded me of the film, “Point Blank” with Lee Marvin, this was a very enjoyable read, the only thing I didn’t like was his escape from prison, when he only had a couple of months to go for his release, I mean the guy had been involved in a serious hijacking of a plane in which people were killed, he would have got at least 25 yrs for that so how come he was being released after a short spell in th Nick ? That didn’t work for me I’m afraid, I like stories like this to be a little bit more credible, it would have been more convincing if he’d just made a daring escape, saying he only had 2 months to go before his release didn’t add up & kinda ruined it, everything else was good though ...

A Fantastic Noir Book.
Slick, Well written and drawn. Everything I have been looking for in a comic, with a gritty Noir setting and a main character who is as brutal as he is dark. I loved every second of it.

Quick read
My husband liked it but didn't realize it's a graphic novel

Darwyn Cooke is so right for illustrating Parker
I don't think there's any artist more suited to bringing Donald E Westlake's (Richard Stark) brilliantly plotted, "hard-baked" crime thrillers to graphic life than Darwyn Cooke. His dark imagery of 60's East Coast America perfectly portray the underworld of Parker with all its style, violence and humour.

fantastic
Great book. Slow to start because it takes a while to get used to the tone of the protagonist but it gets epic by the end.

As good as the book
This is a special treat for all Stark (or Westlakee) fans. The story is well reproduced and adapted. The suspense is there, the violence is there and the mood is there. What more can you ask for? Well, a slightly clearer typeface would help as some individual letters appear a little unclear. Also I didn't think Parker looked like that (no, I didn't think he looked like Lee Marvin or Mel Gibson or Jack Palance either). Go get it if you have not already done so.
