My favorite whistle
Ordered from Photogitems. Arrived on time. The packaging was horrible though. It had been cut down the side, taped back up, and the whistle was opened and flopping around inside. However, it was intact and not scratched/damaged any. Price was right compared to what I've seen on other sites that sell whistles ($17.50).As far as the whistle goes, this is definitely the finest whistle I own as of now; it's my personal favorite. The tone is very chirpy and flute like. As with any Feadog whistle, it's somewhat difficult to play in tune having a very picky breath requirement. However, the sound quality more than makes up for it. The finish is gorgeous as well. A very solid, hefty whistle.5 stars for the whistle4 stars for the shipping time2 stars for the packaging

Light as a feather, Smooth sound
The tin whistle is just fine. Now I must learn to play it! Very lightweight.

Sounds like a Clarinet, a little fuller
Okay. It is a little bit harder to play that a Clarke Sweetone. It takes more air: I like entertain kids (and myself, I suppose) by playing the tinwhistle out my nose. It is considerably harder on the Feadog to do that, but not impossible. It is less forgiving: It squeaks if you don't have your embouchure right or if you don't cover the holes with the correct timing. I recommend, when going from a C# to a D in the second octave, that you have the three bottom holes covered to prevent squeaking as you transition to the D.In my opinion, the Feadog sounds a bit more like a clarinet, whereas the Clarke sounds more like a flute, especially in the lower octave. It almost sounds like it uses a reed, but it does not.4 stars because I like the weight of they instrument and its fuller and louder sound, but would rather have paid not much more for it than the Sweetone. My Sweetone is a bit dinged, and I wanted to try a different brand.

Great for any price!
Excellent quality, sound and overall feel! As most of the prior reviewers of this whistle have noted, it has a much sweeter timbre than other whistles of this price range. It also has an overall heavier feel, which adds to the musicality of the instrument. After playing a Walton D whistle for years, I can fully attest that this instrument is superior in sound and quality.I would recommend this to everyone in need of a good penny whistle! You can't go wrong with it!

Good beginner whistle
Very well made whistle for the price. Clear, crisp notes, and requires very little air. Very good beginner whistle. The only con I have is that it is not tuneable, and the whistle I received plays a little sharp.

Out of Tune
If I didn't have another whistle to compare this to, I would have rated it higher (because $19 is pretty inexpensive in the scheme of things). However, this Feadog was pretty disappointing. The biggest issue was pitch; this is almost a musical half-step higher than it is described, which keeps me from playing with other instruments in the key of D. I can also second the claims of others that this one squeeks a lot, especially on a few lower 2nd octave notes. On the other hand, when a note doesn't squeek and you're not playing with others, this whistle has a beautiful timbre. It also *looks* professional, as far as irish whistles go. I wish the quality matched the looks!I tried contacting the seller with no response after a few weeks :(A lower-priced but better whistle I can personally compare this to is the Clarke CWD Celtic Tin Whistle in the key of D. The Clarke doesn't have squeeky notes and is in-tune. Different timbre altogether, so that's an important distinction. But they both have nice voices. The Clarke goes for about half this price.

Feadog Pro Review
This whistle *cannot be* a feadog pro key of D and ALSO a blue Generation, Key OF F, as BOTH ARE STATED IN THE DESCRIPTION...Didn't show up in good conditionship time is not mentioned here... I would have apreciated knowing the item location as 6 bucks is not for priority 2-3 day shipping or even standard 3-6 day shipping but month long overseas shipping in a soft whistle size bag.

Will try a different type and see if it’s me or the instrument!
My first whistle! Overblows very easily. Could just be me but you have to be really careful on low end ! Very loud!
