I bought this product because I needed a new bookshelf for all my books. But there was no way I was going to lug a wooden bookshelf kit upstairs. I mainly bought this because I am not as strong as I used to be and couldn't bear the thought of heavy furniture.So - yes it is lightweight. It is not difficult to put together but you do need to have the wherewithal to put lots of little rods in holes and properly push the rods into the holes.Despite its lightweight construction - believe it or not it is quite sturdy. I bought two and put them together - they are adaptable that way. And they really do hold ALL my heavy books. They cubes also hold standard 1x1 ft fabric cube drawers, so technically you can put those in and store clothes or whatever.It is also very modern and attractive looking - much more than I thought it would be. So overall l recommend it.

I had originally purchased one of these last spring and loved it. I used it by my front door to catch things when we came in, shoes, bags, keys, whatever we needed to drop as we came in. And when we were moving my mom, God love her, thought it was trash so she threw it away... fast forward im looking for my favorite shelf when we start settling in and unpacking and it's no where to be found..... I'm devastated, I loved my little black catch all shelf. So I bought 2 more to replace the one that got away. I'm even thinking of adding g more for bedroom closets, laundry area, kitchen... you can't go qrong

Very easy to put together. I’ve had a portable wardrobe similar to this item with the same funky plastic fabric that did not hold well. These poles are a lot more sturdy than the flimsy plastic poles on the wardrobe. (Different brands) I am very limited in space so this product is the perfect size. I love that they have the two extra poles in the middle of each shelf for better support. My wardrobe did not have these so it nearly collapsed after only a couple of months. The product is pretty lightweight and seems pretty sturdy, given I’m using this as a dresser. For less than 20 dollars, can’t beat it. I’m going to buy another to store my nephews toys in.

I already had something similar I bought a few years ago. These are challenging to put together but it can be done. I use them as extra shelves for sweaters and pants in my closet between the shelf and the ceiling. They are perfect for my purpose because they’re lightweight and hold up well.

Like the size and cost of the shelf. I bought cloth bins to go in it and store school supplies. It fits nicely in the space and seems sturdy enough. The assembly instructions were not clear, there really weren't any, just some pretty small diagrams, so of course I assembled it incorrectly part of the way, then had to take it back apart and start over. Once sentence on the sheet or a clearer image could have saved me the trouble. That's my only gripe.

No problem with the unit itself but the first thing I got was in a taped together box that had to be destroyed to open. Inside I found that almost half the unit wasn't there and had to get a second. it works well.

The instructions are easy enough to follow if you've built furniture before. It took me an episode of the Flash to put it together. No hammer needed. Keep in mind this shelf is plastic and light metal. This was purchased for our 9 yr old and his growing book collection. It's certainly study enough for lots of books and knick knacks.

Overall a good product. However, the poles kept coming out from the bottom every time I tried to add more cubes to the top level. Easy once you get it just right. Took a little more time than expected to get set up. The cube shelf is exactly as described from the picture.
