Not great
Just to note, I DID NOT get a free product. I actually paid for this device. Going by the other reviews here, I must be one of the very few users that has (other than the Kickstarter/Indiegogo users).Anyway, as a Camera, its an OK device. The picture is good during the day and in IR mode at night. Its responsive enough for most users I think. You hook it up via the app to your network (wifi or wired) and you can then drop in from anywhere (if your home network is working).Out of the box (without having to pay for a subscription) you get geolocation to switch it from home/away mode as well as a schedulable night mode. There is a mic and speaker in the unit, so you can hear what is happening and you can turn on the alarm. I've not tested, but pulling the cable out the back would kill the power and probably turn off the alarm and take the camera off line. The unit itself is a little shorter than the old Amazon Echo. When you live view, a white light is visible at the bottom of the unit.Switching between modes is either via the geolocation (which required you to be sharing your location all the time) or manual. The Amazon Alexa integration doesn't allow you to switch - which makes it pointless in my view. The air quality, temp and humidity readings are OK as an extra. Temps are only in fahrenheit. You can set alarms (notifications) for min and max values but comparing the temp with my Nest, there is a difference of a few degrees with the units about a meter appart. The air quality is pretty meaningless - made up of a score for cooking smells/smoke and god know what else. You can't have it record when you want, it only records on motion detection. So we wanted to film the hampster over night, just to see if he was still as active as ever. But he's too small to trigger the motion detection unless the camera is really close up.Now for the paid service you also get - wait for it - walkie talkie style ability to talk via the app to people/pets in the room. If you have Ring, its much, much better. Canary uses a push to talk button on the app, so you both can't talk at once. Pretty limited in my view and absolutely not worth paying for. The other thing you get is unlimited timeline, which again depending on where you place it may not be worth it. Also person detection...I think. Also, watch out for the "free year of premium". The code you need is stuck to the outside of the box and Amazon sent my first without an outer box...which meant I ended up with no code. They ended up sending me another unit (boxed this time).Overall, this is a nice product with potential, but I'd wait for things to improve before buying - or buy when Amazon have them on sale.

Good quality, highly recommend
I have already owned a Canary Pro for a few years, So didn’t hesitate to buy another. They are purrfect for seeing what my cats get up to when I’m out, also to keep check on the house. The images are very good quality even when zooming in. Since purchasing this Canary Pro I have ordered another making 3 in total. The cats cannot hide anywhere now. Highly recommend these quality indoor cameras, easy to set up and use.

Didn’t work for my home
Unfortunately had to give low marks for this as it just didn’t work for me. Live few was unusable constantly pixelated therefore not fit for purpose for my home. My broadband is fibre so couldn’t have been the issue. Could would fine for Another user

An all round great bit of kit.
Great camera. The subscription should be cheaper though!

2Year Warranty Wi-fi
This arrived as a vine program product for review . It was delivered by Parcel Force in an Amazon branded box packed with packing paper ( lots of it !).I took it out of the box and read the instructions which are simple to follow .I connected the camera to my WiFi and downloaded the app , I downloaded from Android app but you can also download IOS.Once you have the app downloaded you can see everything that is happening in the room you set the camera in .It's motion detection has about a minutes delay , which isn't bad at all , you can even talk to people or animals via the app which is Alexa compatible .This camera came with one years free Service which includes full hd videos , unlimited video storage and a two year warranty .I already have an indoor security camera so am gifting this Canary Pro to my daughter , she's single and lives in an area which suffers spates of burglaries . I like to think this will give her added security and help her feel safer .I was slightly confused by the £25 price difference between this and another which is the same ? The cheaper one states it's Amazon certified to work with Alexa , however no mention of that with this one .You can't put a price on household security as far as I am concerned , with the added 1 years subscription I personally feel this is worth its price .If you have found my review helpful please press the button below

Impressive and all in one
Since they first came out, I've been keeping a close eye on the Canary Home Security systems - offering an all in one without a subscription seemed to take away two of the major pain points that had stopped me previously - installation and having to pay an ongoing cost. As a second generation edition, I was hoping the Pro may have ironed out some of the problems with the first too.Set up was as easy as I was hoping it to be and much easier than the Cocoon which I've tried previously. You plug it in, download and connect the app via bluetooth to give it your wifi password then you're away. You don't need a subscription to watch the last 24 hours worth of saved videos while this comes with a free trial of the pro version as well.Once set up, the image quality and video feed is good. The pro version also allows you to monitor air quality, temperature and humidity - nice but not hugely useful. A number of settings are available to monitor your home in different ways and so far in my tests I've seen no false alarms (I'm looking at you Cocoon) so everything was genuine, with the siren and notifications responding quickly and the live feed being up to date.Overall, what you've got therefore is a package that finally actually is a whole security system in one. Good camera, connectivity and app makes this a pleasure to use and makes me feel comfortable my house is well guarded.
