A Wandering Eye: Travels with My Phone

This book feeds my artistic soul. I see things through my eyes the way the photographer captures scenes, decor, nature, designs, architecture, art, life. The photographer/author slips in a couple of paragraphs ever so infrequently--worded artistically, almost poetically, about a certain page. Not so many words that I felt like it was an ego trip for the author; but just enough to keep me intrigued. Enough to make me feel as if I was there with him. The lack of words actually made me want to know MORE about these places! I wanted to know Where more of these places were! In fact, I wanted to know where ALL these places were! Then, last night, I reached the end of the book--this book of candy to my eyes & food for my artistic soul. And alas, at the end of the book, I found what I craved: more details about every single picture in the book!! Now, I will have the joy of going through the entire book again while referencing the info at the back, to see when & where these photos were taken. Kudos to Miguel! Quite a unique way to put a "picture-book" together. After finishing, I wanted more. Indeed, I want more! When does the next book come out? :D

The book is a visual banquet. It’s not so much about places. It’s about the texture of life and really seeing. It’s about capturing a moment, and light, and shadow. It’s a trip around the world on a lazy afternoon. It’s a book to savor.

Beautiful photographs....very well done...objects of interest are unique, timeless and breathtaking.......each time I look at the pages I see something new.. very happy I purchased.. Highly recommend

This book has the types of photos that I enjoy making while I travel - and at home as well. Each photo is a mini universe. One star deducted for organization. I’d prefer them grouped by location for continuity and it would be helpful if the descriptions were near the photos and not all at the back of the book. The narrative in the book is sparse and sets the mood beautifully.

I loved Miguel Flores-Viana's first book, and this more intimate book is equally beautiful and inspiring. Highly recommend!

The photos are breathtaking (5 star) but I was very disappointed that there is no index, at the back they do identify where/what the pictures are but as you look at them individually you have no idea of what/where you are looking at. It would have so much more impact if you knew the provenance of the photos as you view them

It's a good photobook for reference photography as you can see lots of good photo composition based on it's rules. There are some evident cell phone pictures that were stretched to it's limits for printing that work pretty good while others have a superb quality kind of hard to detect if they were taken with cell phone or professional camera. Recommended for cell phone camera users and beginners.

Miguel Flores-Vianna ist ein visuelles Genie. Seine Bilder (Handy Kamera Fotos! ) sind von einer unglaublich Qualität, unfassbar schönen Motiven und das Arrangement ( die Zusammen- und Gegenüberstellung der Motive ) ist genial. Ein großartiges Buch fürs Auge und dazu schönes Papier + toller Einband. Für den Gegenwert den man erhält erscheint der Preis mir überraschend günstig.
