Green Mountain Grills Daniel Boone Single Piece Grease Tray, Stainless Steel

This is a nice upgrade to your old grill. HOWEVER, if you have a really really old one like I do, it does not fit out of the box and requires a lot of modifications to make work. That said, it is still a lot better than the old one that I had. The original was a thin piece of non-stainless black painted sheet metal with an X in the middle of it for support. It warps badly. I am writing this review before using it, bc its going to take me some time to modify this one to fit, but I have a solid plan and know that I can make it work, because the dimensions are close to the original one. All in all its solid, well built, and if you have a newer grill, will work perfect. My grill is from 2009 I believe.

The drip tray is 80 exact replacement for the Daniel Boone pellet grill from Green mountain grills. So far, it has improved heat circulation and transfer throughout the grill. It is far easier to clean up than the original steel, which had rotted out in most locations after about 5 years of use; which is very good. I also suggest that if you're doing the drip tray and you have the old style burner box cover, you should upgrade to the new style it fixes several problems.

If you like your Danial Boone Green Mountain Grill and the majority is smoking Ribs, Pulled Pork, Spatchcock Chicken or Brisket then you will want GMG’s “NEW” Grease Tray! You no longer are having to insure the holes on the Grease Tray, that you covered with foil are closed Vs open to the plate under the Grease Tray. In addition have a look at GMG’s new Heat Shield. It’s larger and a completely redesigned as you can see in attached photos. It in conjunction with the Grease Tray should improve the Heat Convection inside your Daniel Boone.

Well made and easy to clean. I was worried it would affect the flavor of the meat because the old style had holes to let the smoke through. There is absolutely no difference in flavor, but this is much simpler and easy to clean.

If you have the old school tray, you NEED this.The both my original tray and heat shield were warped. Replaced them both with stainless steel and I'm happier with my GMG than ever before.

Great replacement for the original with holes. The original was just tough to clean and didn't work well enough for higher temp cooking to be worth the cleanup effort.

This was an exact match as a replacement for my previous GMG grease tray. So that's the good.It did arrive with one of the corners dented/warped, despite the shipping box being in good condition. Luckily, it was nothing a few minutes with a rubber mallet wasn't able to resolve.
