National Hardware N148-155 V570 Continuous Hinge in Brass,1-1/2" x 30"

This was exactly the quality, sturdiness, and function I was looking for. I used this hinge to mount a large dog door flap on the rectangle opening I cut in a solid wood door. (I have two 100# outside dogs afraid of thunder, in frightened desperation when I wasn't home, ate the bottom of two hollow core doors to get to the back room of the garage.) I did have to customize this to a little shorter with a hack saw, but it looks great and functions with the dog door flap just as I had planned, envisioned, and hoped for. Yay!

The 72 inch piano hinge came with screws which worked perfect for what I intended to do. The item met my expectations perfectly, the installation was very easy.

This hinge is going to be used on the lid of a toy box for a grandchild. It is high quality and I have used this type before but they always came with hardware. Now for some reason the supplier has decided to cut costs and leave the brass screw purchase to the end user. Except for that, the product is high quality and priced right too.

Best price, perfect product. I bought this for a blanket chest that I made. I just cut the hinge to exact length with an angle grinder (any abrasive metal cutting blade will go through it like butter) and screwed it down. Hinge installation is not for everyone, but if you have the right vix bit and know what you are doing then this product will create a virtually indestructible and visually perfect hinge joint for your project. I would not be surprised if inexperienced consumers find it very difficult to install a piano hinge, and/or end up with poor results but that is not due to a problem with this hinge. I recommend creating something with scrap lumber that will allow you to clamp both sides of the workpiece into the exact alignment, then mark where the hinge needs to be. Depending on the workpiece, you may want to remove one side of the workpiece at that point if needed in order to use a straightedge to ensure the hinge is being is being fastened down in a perfectly straight line. Then clamp the workpiece back into position and fasten the other edge. That part is essential because it is super easy to introduce a slight curve to it, which results in a very poor hinge joint that will bind. Again, the installation issues are nothing specific to this hinge, but technique is critical to getting good results with any piano hinge.

Was hoping for something a bit more sturdy, my fault for not verifying thickness, but a good product for what it is for light material doors.

This is a good hinge and it works pretty well on the trunk I built. I'm not an expert on such hinges, but I observed this item is less sturdy and more expensive than the ones I sometimes buy at a local Lowes store. I will purchase it again only if my local store doesn't have the stronger hinges.

it's worth the money.i mean - IF ya need one like this.i bought it to use to put a board/cover over my homemade doggie-door.there are times i have to keep the little ones out of my bedroom, and instead of putting something in front of the door, i can let the board down and pick it back up and lock it in place - it's just easier for me.
