I love using these locks, I primarily purchased them for use at the gym and for my locker at work. These locks have a easy to set combination, they feel sturdy and they are a good size. They work well and are easy to open, they look sharp and the lock action is smooth. Highly recommended for the price!

Great lock

Master Lock 653D / B000ZOUB5AI purchased this lock because it was the cheapest shackle-combination (i.e., just line the numbers up) on Amazon. I'm not unhappy with it, but I do have to say that the lock isn't totally intuitive. I'm leaving a video tutorial here because it took me awhile to understand the included instructions.1. Setting the combination: The lock comes pre-set to 0000. Line up the shackles so that 0000 is what you see through the side color window. Then open the lock. There are two indentions cut into the lock body surrounding the metal shaft -- one is at the 9-o'clock position and one is at the 6-o'clock position. Turn the lock shaft so that the prong on the metal shaft lines up with the indention at the 6-o'clock position. Press the shaft down into the lock, and then continue turning the shaft to the right until you feel it lock into place. Now whatever numbers you set will be the new combination.2. Closing the lock: This lock is weird in that the combination must be set to the correct/open position before you can close the lock. So you have to line up the dials to the combination, then close the lock, then hold it closed while you move the shackles away from the combination. Once the combination isn't showing in the window anymore, then the lock holds and doesn't come open. This kind of startled me the first time, because it wasn't what I was used to with my last combination lock.This is a good work-a-day lock and it will do the trick for a gym locker. I'm not thrilled at having to have the combination in place before being able to lock it; it's kind of an awkward operation, and it also means that anyone else in the room has a chance to glimpse the correct combination when you're locking up, which I think is bad for security. But you get what you pay for, and this is a decent lock for the cheap price.~ Ana Mardoll

Then just lift the shackle back up to lock it in. I bought this lock for daily use and it has worked well so far. The combination is easy to set, and the lock feels solid enough for gym or school lockers. I have been using it for more than ten year and it is still working without any problem. Good value for the price.

Nice size ,very easy to use and change combo.

I bought two of these locks, one for myself and one for my wife. We both love it and will certainly purchase more should we ever need similarly sized padlocks.The Good:Following the instructions it is very easy to set and change your combo. The lock has a good amount of heft to it and when it is closed it is solid with no movement or play in any of the parts whatsoever. The number wheels spin freely and click solidly, and audibly into place, it is impossible to position the wheels between numbers. I use this primarily at the gym, but you could easily use this outside, and if you always set the numbers to 0-0-0-0 after you lock it, you could easily unlock this in the dark by counting the clicks.The colors are bright and vibrant, which makes finding your locker in the gym that much easier, and also reduces the chances of someone mistaking it for their lock.The Bad: The only negative I can think of is that you can't choose the color, but that isn't a major issue for me. We got 2 of these, one blue and one orange, both look great!

This is one of the best custom combination padlocks you can get. They are adequately sized for any school/gym locker room lock. You will receive a random color that might differ from picture. There are 4 possible colors from the manufacturer (Red, Blue, Yellow or Orange), I received blue.PROS:1) You can set your own custom 4 digit combination pin and change it whenever you want, this is much better than those that come with preset, unchangeable codes.2) It's hard to accidentally change the combination. A lot of people complain that other custom combination padlocks make it way to easy to accidentally change their codes. For this lock, to change the unlock code, while open you have to turn it 90 degrees right, push it inside with force, then while holding that force, twist it another 90 degrees, only then can you set the new code, afterwards you have to turn it back and pull up again. A very nice mechanism to prevent unknown/accidental changes.CONS:The body is a little bigger/wider than most small combination locks and might not fully fit inside the padlock area of some lockers, It will for most, but even if the body doesn't fit, you'll still be able to actually lock your locker but the body might be hanging outside instead of sitting inside flush.Overall I give it a 5/5, a great custom combination padlock. Está excelente, yo lo uso para el casillero del gimnasio y cabe perfecto, además de que me da mucha seguridad que con 4 dígitos esté bien protegido porque la estructura en si efectivamente está muy robusta y reforzada. Solo recomiendo dimensionar bien el tamaño, afortunadamente a mi me funciona bien, pero si es más grande de lo que pensé inicialmente.
