After reading some of the reviews I almost didn't buy this. But since it ended up being about the only one I could find, I gambled and bought it. And I'm very glad I did.What I write here will address what I read in some of the reviews.First, addressing some complaints that the lid was warped or didn't fit... in my case the lid came in perfect condition and it fit fine.Out of the box, I placed this on the blender, as is, and it worked perfectly! The bottom base is a little thinner than the original and at first I thought it was smaller and it didn't look like it would fit onto the blender. But it did, in fact, fit just fine and the blender worked perfectly using all the parts from this package.Since the base was thinner and seemed more plasticky than the original and since the original has lasted 30 years without a crack, I decided to see if I could put the original base on the bottom of this bottle - and it worked perfectly! So, I used my old base, with the new blades and the new rubber gasket. So, it was a little mix and match but it worked perfectly and I'm very happy with it. I'm keeping the new base, just in case I ever need it in the future.All the parts are completely interchangeable with the original parts. The original top will work on the new bottle and vice versa, the original bottom will work on the new bottle and vice versa. And the original blades will work with the new bottle -- and vice versa! So if you need just one part, you can still get this and it'll work with your original. You can mix and match every part as you like.Someone wrote in their review that the blades on this were different than the original. But in my case, they were exactly the same... and a little sharper too! Which is to be expected when comparing to 30-year-old blades.In the end, I used all the new parts from this, except the base. I used the base from the original glass and it works perfectly together! No leaking or anything.I have to say - it's so nice to have a new clean bottle. After 30 years our old bottle was very cloudy and just not pleasant to look at.I can't stand the new blenders with the plastic jars, so I'm so happy to have found this and even happier that it actually works with such an old blender! Really great!

My teenage son broke our original Oster blender pitcher making a protein shake so we needed a replacement. This one fits the base perfectly, feels quite sturdy, and performs well. The blades are higher than the original, which actually works better than the original. The only drawback is that it's heavy. My 10 year old daughter likes to make smoothies so it's a little heavy for her to pull out of the above counter cabinet but overall a quality replacement!

Lots of problems with this item so I returned it. First, the lid is too big for the jar. Worst of all the base leaks. Not just a little but, a lot. The base of the jar looks to have been ground off and is not smooth finished like the jar I was replacing. I thought the leak may have been due to a bad gasket, so tried it with another one; still leaked a lot. It looks like the threaded base of the jar is at least 1/8" shorter than my current jar. This means that there is not enough depth to the threads to allow the base to be properly tightened to get a good seal.Then I tried the entire base assembly from my old jar (blades, gasket, and base). The base size of the jar itself is different size. It was smaller and the threads of my old base would not even engage with the threads on this new jar. So, it can't be used interchangeably with my other jars and bases.Not sure this is real Oster item. It has 'Oster' stamped into the base, but everything else written on it is in Spanish. No where near the quality of the other Oster items I have.My recommendation? None, except don't buy this jar from this vendor. Thankfully it was a 'Fulfilled by Amazon' item so the return was hassle-free.

Great price and love the glass container. It worked great for six months, but then I threw three frozen cherries in while I was blending a drink and it suddenly broke (it had easily handled a good deal of frozen fruit previously). Somehow, the blade disengaged from the mechanism that turns it. Maybe this is a fluke or maybe there’s a flaw in the manufacturing?

When my plastic oster container broke I began reviewing options. This works perfectly on my old blender. Fast delivery so as not to get off track with my protein intake.The top is smaller than my original but I received a new blade,gasket,and container. Let’s see how long this beast of a blender lasts.
