I purchased this cable to connect directly to a new piece of equipment on my at home test bench for work. The plan was to use the male DB9 side to connect to the equipment, and chop the female connector off and terminate it to a captive screw connector. I typically create my own cabling, but decided against it on this occasion and ultimately purchased this cable. This cable uses stranded 26AWG copper cabling, and does not use standard wire colors. My wire strippers barely could strip the wires because they were too small, and I had to go through hoops to figure out their pinout. This product is listed as an extension, but I would not use it as such. The thin stranded cabling would be very problematic if you extended a DB9 cable over a long distance. If you purchased this cable I would recommend only using using it as a direct connection and not as an extension.

If you need to extend length of G27/G29 shifter this works great. My sim chair puts shifter pretty far from base unit. I did have to loose the screws and sand the plug flat to fit under base of wheel, but works great.

Works well. Nice to have found a straight through cable that has all the pins.
