Aerostar 20x25x1 MERV 13 Air Filters
Just wanted to drop in and chat about the Aerostar 20x25x1 MERV 13 Pleated Air Filters I picked up on Amazon. With allergy season hitting me like a freight train and my HVAC system working overtime, I figured it was time for an upgrade. Here's the lowdown:Price Point: First things first, these bad boys come in at $65.31 for a 6-pack, which breaks down to about $10.89 each. Not too shabby, especially considering these are MERV 13. They promise to snag everything from lint and pollen to smoke and bacteria. So far, seems like money well spent. The Fit: They're supposed to be 20x25x1, but the actual fit is a smidge under that. No big deal, they slide into my furnace slot without any fuss. If you've ever wrestled with a filter that's too snug, you'll appreciate the easy fit here.Performance: Let's talk about the reason we're all here – do they actually work? Short answer: Yep. I noticed a difference in my air quality pretty quickly. Less sneezing, less dust floating around, and even the pet dander from my two dogs seems less invasive. Plus, the house overall just feels fresher.Durability: They recommend swapping these out every 60 to 90 days, but they suggest bumping that up to every 30 days if you're running your system non-stop. I'll probably check mine at the 60-day mark and see how it's holding up. They seem pretty sturdy, but only time will tell.Overall Impression: I'm impressed. For the price, ease of installation, and the noticeable bump in air quality, I'd say these filters are a solid buy. And with them being shipped right to my door, it's one less thing I have to remember to pick up.

Awesome!
These filters work great! I’ve bought them more than once and it’s a good price for 6. I love that I can buy them in bunches rather than one at a time.

Aerostar 20x20x1 MERV 13 Pleated Air Filter
After years of using the more expensive filters I took a chance on these to see how well they worked in comparison. So far I am impressed mainly because they do trap dust better. The Filtrete 1500 filters I was using may have cost more but they didn't catch dust like these. It's noticeably better on the surfaces in our home. These are a bit flimsy in construction compared to the others but they fit fine. I noticed right away the filter material is softer, less rigid, than the Filtrete and I think that is why they catch dust better. After 2 weeks of normal use I pulled the filter and was surprised how much it trapped. It wasn't that bad but I replaced it anyway. I highly recommend these for the cost conscious consumer.

A little flimsy but not a bad value, MERV 13 restricts air flow
Somewhat flimsy so not great for any applications needing more stiffness or structural integrity which some air blower applications do need. MERV 13 really does restrict air flow more than lower rated like MERV 11 filters and may not be the best for some applications or uses. Not fully glued and attached at 2 ends unlike better brands.

Fits perfectly
We have an odd shaped air handler and this fits perfectly. I change my filter the 1st of each month, these work great

Great alternative to 3M Filtrete filters
I purchased Aerostar MERV 13 filters in the 20x30x1, 14x30x1, and 12x12x1 sizes for my HVAC systems. As a point of comparison, I have always used 3M Filtrete filters in the red packaging. These either have a 1000 or 1085 MPR rating, which would be closer to a MERV 11 rating. Here are some things to note:- Each Aerostar filter was clearly labeled with respect to its nominal size, actual size, and MERV rating. No brand information is printed on the filters.- In all cases, the Aerostar filters have the same or more pleats than the 3M filters. Also, both the wire and paperboard framing for the Aerostar filters are more substantial than the 3M filters. Lastly, the Aerostar filter media just appears to be denser than that of the 3M filter, as it lets less light through. In theory, I'm expecting the Aerostar filters to perform best unless there is some more subtle difference in the filter media.- Irrespective of the actual dimensions printed, the Aerostar filters are always between 1 to 3mm smaller in each dimension compared to the 3M filters.- When installing the 3M filters, I have always found them slightly oversized such that I usually have to crush a filter's frame a bit to get it mounted. As a result, it is doubtful that any air can bypass the filter and the only way the filter moves is if I tug it firmly to remove.- When installing the Aerostar 20x30x1 filter, it remained snug to the vent frame and did not fall from the ceiling even with the HVAC fan off and grate open. If the filter was jiggled a little, it would fall though. In other words, it wasn't tight like a 3M filter.- When installing the Aerostar 12x12x1 filter, it did not stay snug to the vent frame. I had to slide it in and close the grate to keep it in place. Despite this, I haven't heard any filter movement when the fan turns on or off.- When installing the Aerostar 14x30x1 filter, it was similarly snug to a 3M filter. If a problem develops with any of the filters, I think I'll just use double sided tape to secure them as necessary. I am satisfied with this given how much I saved over buying 3M filters.- For reference, the actual dimensions printed on the 3M filters are 501mm x 755mm x 20mm, 349mm x 755mm x 20mm, and 298mm x 298mm x 20mm. In comparison, the actual dimensions printed on the Aerostar filters are 502mm x 756mm x 19mm, 352mm x 759mm x 19mm, and 298mm x 298mm x 19mm. Irrespective of the printed dimensions, the real world dimensions, as explained above, don't exactly match the specifications.- The 20x30x1, and 12x12x1 sizes were shipped directly from Amazon, while the 14x30x1 size was shipped from Air Filters Delivered. The filters shipped from Amazon were received in perfect condition as they were double boxed. The filters shipped from Air Filters Delivered were slightly battered and deformed.

6 Pack of AC Filters
These filters were inexpensive for their filtration rating and they last just as long as more expensive brands like 3M.

Filters Wildfire Smoke like a champ
When the air quality from a local wildfire went hazardous outside these helped keep put air quality better inside. We had 3 set up on box fans and they captured this much in a few days. Had to order more, wish we had to start with (didn't realize how much they would catch so fast! And no where local has any). You need at least MERV 13 for wildfire smoke. If you are using fans be careful with higher speeds. These reduce the airflow, and put more stress on the fan units as they try to move the air. We ruined one fan using it on high with these (it overheated and melted a part). The second order of filters did arrive damaged due to poor packaging (not individually or bulk wrapped. All individually packed into the cardboard shipping box just big enough), so you can see the crushed edges... but not worth sending back as we desperately needed to replace the used ones ASAP.

Great value and quality
Can’t beat the price. As a pet owner I make sure to change my filter every month and boy can I see the difference. The filter does surely catch a lot of allergens and dust. When compared side by side with a new one it’s quite amazing.
