WD 4TB My Passport, Portable External Hard Drive, Black, Backup Software with Defense Against ransomware, and Password Protection, USB 3.1/USB 3.0 Compatible - WDBPKJ0040BBK-WESN

This is an excellent hard drive to use for backup purposes. I can back up my entire hard drive several times without having to erase earlier backups. This is valuable because there may be times you want to refer back to data you no longer keep. I regard this drive as more secure than any cloud-based solution. It is also less expensive than maintaining constant payments to maintain access to your files. If the worst happens, as it will sooner or later, this is an easier way to restore your computer. Even a ransome attack becomes a joke on the perpetrator whan you can get this drive out and restore the entire computer in 3-4 hr. I have been using this same drive for several years and have had absolutely no trouble with it.

Nice easy to set up and use Hard Drive. Comes with great software for backups and can be password protected. Small and easy to store. I backup my family photos on one and CPU backups on another then put them in my safe. They have different colors for quick ID of which one you may use it for. A lot of storage for the price.

This is great product. Thank you

I like the size of the drive and it's speed works well. I could have purchased a solid state drive, instead of a hard disk drive, but solid state is much more costly, and I just can't justify the higher cost for the same functionality. Instead, I do backups at night while I'm resting.

Running a company that specializes in commercial production, I have a relentless demand for dependable storage solutions. The Western Digital WD 4TB has become my go-to choice. It's a workhorse that fits our heavy-duty data storage needs perfectly, while remaining within our budget. While the WD 4TB might not compete with the Lacie rugged drives in terms of robustness, its significantly more affordable price point makes it an ideal choice for businesses that require multiple storage devices. The cost savings when buying in bulk, like we do, are substantial. A standout feature that differentiates these from the other external hard drives I've used in the past is the elimination of the power cable. This simplifies the setup and makes for a cleaner workspace, contributing to an overall more efficient workflow. Moreover, these drives have proven to be less prone to failure, an essential trait for hard drives that need to safeguard important commercial content. The reliability factor is something I value highly, and these drives deliver on that front. In conclusion, the Western Digital WD 4TB drives offer a fine balance of reliability, convenience, and affordability. They may not be the most rugged drives out there, but if you're in a situation where you need to use a large number of them, these drives make a compelling case. If you're looking for a hard drive solution that provides substantial storage without breaking the bank, the Western Digital WD 4TB deserves serious consideration.
