Thunderbolt 3 Dock with USB-C Laptop Compatibility

A really well built piece of kit. Does exactly what it says without any fuss. Works out of the box with my MacBook Pro 16”, dual monitors working without the need to any drivers etc. Bonus are the two display ports, so can run two monitors without problem. No lag or quality issues to the display via the unit. Very well built, no noise or excessive heat. Comes well packaged, power adapter with both uk and euro plug adapters. Also has a USB-C cable to connect your laptop to it. Highly recommended.

Purchased two of these for our office as we have used Startech products in the past and have been very happy with the build quality and reliability. This model was selected to use with a couple of new Lenovo ThinkPads, charging the laptops and supporting dual monitors via display port without any issues. Of particular note is that ZERO DRIVERS are needed, so there won't be issues with firmware updates in future. Only criticism would be the number of standard USB A ports, but there are enough on the back to connect a USB controller for mouse/keyboard and one other if you have them seperately. There is a USB A on the front, but I wouldn't want to put anything in there other than a universal controller as it would defeat the object of a clean desk space! A superb bit of kit.

I bought this dock for working from home during lockdown and needed something that could support USB-C as unfortunately my work-issued laptop doesn't have TB3. This does the job great whilst also having all the extra bandwith capabailities of TB3 when used on my Macbook Pro. I've found a slight issue in that the headphone socket is unbearable noisey when you disconnect your laptop - fine if you're using headphones but rather annoying if you're plugged into a hifi and speakers! This is the only reason I've not given 5*. I must give a shoutout to the Startech tech support though - David resolved my issue with the headphone socket by sending over a USB DAC free of charge and has answered all queries I've had quickly and effectively!

Silly expensive, comes without HDMI cables so you need to get these separately and, won’t work as you can’t install the thunderbolt app via the intel site

it looks good on my desk, but there are quality control issues. It works most of the time, but I've noticed the following issues... 1) On very hot days the video ports start cutting out. No amount of fiddling fixes this. And its annoyingly inconsistent. 2) The sound port is so bad there is no point using it. It crackles like a cheap pair of headphones. 3) The front USB C port (the one my MBP is plugged into) is a bit loose. It works, just feels insecure. None of these issues are bad enough for me to return the item, but I wouldn't buy it again.

Very high quality dock which has some weight to I. I was able to connect my laptop, two screens, keyboard and peripherals to this dock with ease.

This was bought with the purpose of connecting two monitors to my MacBook Pro 13”, but for that I had to purchase two Active DisplayPort to HDMI 4K Adapters, as the monitors only have HDMI, VGA and DVI connections, and the passive adapters that I have don’t work. This was confirm after calling StarTech.com customer support, and they were very helpful. They even done a following up a few days latter to confirm if everything was working fine. The juice output is only 60W, so if only want to use one thunderbolt connection to your pc/mac and it needs more power to charge, this is not the dock station for you. I miss the power on/off button, but I can live with that!

This was one of the few I tested, and the only one working well. Connected screens, connected to laptop - everything detected. Power is delivered. Monitors run at 4K@60Hz, as expected. The only caveat - slightly less power than I would like, but Startech doesn't have a "perfect" product in the lineup at the moment - though this works well so far.

A pesar de las malas reseñas, me decidí a pedirlo tras ver varias reviews. Funciona correctamente en un Macbook Pro 16 2020 con dos monitores conectados vía cable DisplayPort - DisplayPort a 4K60fps, junto con varios usb conectados a él, tras varios días de uso lo recomiendo.

Amazing product, performs exactly as described. I use it to connect 2 Dell UHD 24” monitors my 13” Macbook Pro (2017 model). Once connected to the TB3 host input port both monitors were (almost) immediately recognized by the computer. No need to instal any driver with Big Sur Mac OS. I used both DisplayPort outputs (no daisy chain) and only one Macbook Pro TB3 port. Both displays can be configured separately or in mirror mode. The USB ports work perfectly fine as well. I believe this dock works every penny and the design is really sober.

Ottima dock station, la utilizzo da circa un mese con un Macbook Pro 13” del 2019 per connetterlo ad un monitor Benq 4K, alla rete di casa con connessione cablata e varie periferiche USB. Oltre al vantaggio di connettere tutto con un solo cavo vi è anche quello della ricarica senza dover utilizzare l’alimentatore originale del Macbook; in questo modo posso tenere sempre l’alimentatore in zaino e quando esco mi devo preoccupare di prendere solo il portatile. La dock station è di buonissima fattura, il colore si abbina perfettamente al grigio scuro del Macbook, non fa rumore perché è priva di ventole e non scalda eccessivamente. Bella estetica e sul fondo ha uno strato gommato che la tiene ben salda alla scrivania. Se dovete collegarla ad un monitor HDMI con apposito adattatore consiglio di acquistare quello specificato nel manuale di istruzioni perché altri che ho provato non funzionavano. Io l’ho scoperto dopo aver contattato l’assistenza che oltre tutto mi ha risposto in tempi brevissimi e con estrema disponibilità. Le cinque stelle sono per il docking e per l’ottima esperienza avuta con l’assistenza.
