Vento Kitchen Trash Can, Open Top Bin, 16.5 Gallon, Black/Nickel

Got this for our community theater restroom. It's nicer looking than a regular kitchen type trash can, the plastic won't rust in our old damp building, and it's more affordable than steel, and easy to change the bag. Perfect!

Instead of for trash, I bought a mesh bag and use it as a laundry hamper, it contains the smell but looks sleek, no paint chippage and extremely easy to clean, definitely a recommended purchase!

It looks pretty good in person. I like the clean, modern shape. It’s tall rather than overly bulky, so it gives you a lot of capacity without taking up a huge amount of floor space. That said, I was a little disappointed by the material. From the product photos, I expected it to feel more substantial or have more of a metal construction, but it is essentially plastic with metal-look accents. You can definitely tell once you see and touch it in person. Mine also had a noticeable plastic smell when I first opened it. The packaging was another surprise. The box arrived looking extremely beat up—to the point where I thought the trash can would be damaged—but fortunately the product inside was fine. The open-top lid is convenient if you’re constantly throwing things away. The top ring also does a nice job of hiding most of the bag from the outside. On the other hand, because the opening is always exposed, there is no real odor containment and I definitely would not consider this pet-proof. If you have a dog that likes getting into the trash, this probably isn’t the best design unless you can keep the can somewhere the pet can’t access. One of the biggest issues for me was finding a trash bag that fits properly. The can is quite tall, and regular 13-gallon kitchen bags technically fit around the opening but simply aren’t tall enough for the body. They tend to dangle inside, and once you start putting heavier trash in, the bag can slide down toward the bottom. That got frustrating very quickly. I ended up using EKO 20-gallon trash bags that I normally use for my kitchen trash can. Good thing I have them around and to my surprise they are a much better fit! The extra length reaches much farther down the can, so the bag actually uses the available capacity and stays in place when trash is tossed in. The EKO code G bag says it fits roughly 50L–90L cans, and for something this tall, that extra bag height makes a surprisingly big difference. In terms of sturdiness, it feels reasonably stable because of its wide base and shape, and I haven’t had an issue with it tipping over during normal use. Being plastic also makes such a large trash can relatively lightweight and easy to move or clean. The tradeoff is that it doesn’t have the solid, premium feel you would get from a stainless-steel trash can. Overall, I’m pretty happy with it. The size-to-footprint ratio is excellent, it holds a lot of trash, the open top is very convenient, and the design looks much nicer than a basic utility trash can. My biggest complaints are the all-plastic construction, the plastic smell, and the fact that standard 13-gallon bags aren’t really a practical fit despite technically fitting around the opening.

Tried many different sizes and types of trash cans lately to keep my 1-year-old great-granddaughter out of the trash. This one is the closest I've come. It's tall so it's more difficult for her to reach and since the input hole is not easily reached either it mostly keeps her out of the trash. She can't really reach down inside to get into the test. She can however throw things in the trash that don't belong in the trash. Still need the watchful eye but blessed to have this trash can. Wish I would have purchased it before the others that didn't take care of the problem

The trash can itself weighs almost nothing, maybe 2 lbs. The lid came seemingly scratched up but I am not sure, wiped it oof and it seems ok. The rim holds a lot of fingerprints, not crazy about that. Either way, the seller absolutely does not work with people at all. Seller claims that the trash can I paid $51 and change for is now $40 and change, the same day I received it. I asked for them to price adjust my order as it was SAME day price lowering and they have refused to assist. I asked to return it and they refuse to accommodate, they want $14 for a return. This is a joke, find this trash can with someone else. Update to this - I had to keep the trash can due to return costs. It is a great trash can, I love that you can toss everything in without any hands of feet. Highly washable which I love. I can toss the lid in the sink anytime and wash it. Find one somewhere for a low price

It is one of the best trash cans I have ever used. p.s if you are lucky you might get it for $25 sometimes when it becomes on sale.
