Draperies had everything I was looking for, but once up, the ripple effect was not crisp. I added the 4" wide and it is just the right amount of stiffness. Soft enough to gather, but strong enough to look professional.LOVE IT

I purchased this for the wedding dress that I was making. I was originally debating buying a petticoat, but I decided that for an A-line silhouette, the horsehair would suffice for the lining. The two-inch was a perfect width.It does fray a little bit when cut diagonally, so you have to be careful (hence the 4 stars; this is my first time using horsehair so I cannot compare it to anything else); but it is otherwise easy to work with, especially when adding a gathering thread by hand.

The description is accurate and the item works as expected. There is some odd crusty stuff on it throughout but since it’s plastic it was easily washed off. Still gross though.

I had a really hard time working with this horse hair, it would catch the needle constantly and cause a pull in the hair everytime.But besides the frustration it came out pretty nice

Take some advice.You cannot colour it black. I tried and miserably miserably failed lmaooo. Decent mesh otherwise very bendy and supportive. Don't let cats near it either.

I ordered “stiff” horsehair, and what I received was very much soft horsehair.The photo shows stiff horsehair (on the left, which I order from somewhere else), compared to what I received from Amazon (on the right). I only ordered this from Amazon because I would receive it in 2 days, but it is not at all stiff enough for my intended use and should be advertised as SOFT horsehair.
