I have had my Metalbestos chimney over 20 years so far. I burn 3 to 5 cords of wood per year. Averaged that is 80 cords of wood.The competitor's chimneys have failed requiring replacement in under 5 years.I am a home builder in Connecticut and this is the only manufactured chimney I will install. If you burn a lot of pine you may need to clean or just remove the screen from the chimney cap. It will load up with soot.
