Concealed Carry Bible: A Complete Self-Defense Guide A to Z

Very usable information
I spent most of my life anti-gun or at least pro-gun laws. After experiencing many changes in my life and doing extensive reading on gun ownership, laws, and statistics, my opinion changed over time. My wife and I finally made the decision to own a gun, and I have made the decision to carry. This book covers a lot of the information in one place that I have spent the last couple of months gathering from various sources plus some. It also includes links to give you visual examples of some descriptions. For example, when explaining a proper grip on a firearm there was a video link for both the revolver and pistol grip, along with malfunctions and others. This helped to bridge the gap between words and visual examples.I also found that it was easy to read, as I was able to read this fairly quickly and for longer periods. I only read this at night when relaxed and it kept my interest enough that I had to repeatedly stop reading to go to sleep and not the other way around. I would consider this more of a new shooter guide than a full training guide. By that I mean the Author explained each area very well but he let the reader know they would need to continue to learn. The book covers more than basics in some areas and only the basics in others; however, he gives many examples and explanations that allow the reader to fully understand the subject matter. If I had one complaint, I would say I was expecting a book solely on concealed carry and found this was a walk through the journey of purchasing your first firearm all the way to your considerations and understandings of concealed carry, I would have liked to see more statistics and stories of the concealed carry life but overall this is a very good book. I also felt the author did a great job of not glorifying anything about gun ownership and focused on the responsibility and liability of it.Update 6/29I went and took my concealed carry class shortly after reading this book. To my extreme surprise, I knew every answer to the NRA test prior to the class mostly because of this book. This book is actually more in-depth than the 8 hr class that Michigan requires you to take. The author covers so much content covered in the course I didn't even realize it until I took the class. This book is a training class in itself. He explains so much in detail, that I almost felt like the know it all in the class, I finally stopped answering questions when the instructor would say has anyone heard of this or do you know what they mean by this. Don't get me wrong I still learned things from taking the class, but nothing that was on the test was new to me. This book also helps you to get a good grasp of aiming, which I was also complimented on in the class. Keep in mind I dry fire nightly and go to the range weekly so I had some experience shooting prior to the class but I only have been shooting now for two month's and between this book, concealed carry and home defense, plus dry fire reloaded I have improved 100% in my knowledge of self-defense, and my shooting abilities. If people think that owning a gun gives you freedom to do anything you need to read these books. If anything I have learned has taught me the opposite. The situational awareness you need, along with the dangers of actually defending yourself makes it so you are doing everything to de-escalate every situation and never using a gun unless you are forced to. Anyone who has got proper training will tell you, as they have me that you have to become the king of avoiding arguments, dangerous situations, and calming a situation when you decide to buy and carry a gun. It is not what you think it is at all. While you can learn a ton from these books, if you learn nothing else it is more dangerous for a gun owner to defend themselves than someone who has nothing. You can be facing serious prison time if you don't get training before you ever think about pulling the gun from the holster. This book explains almost all of that and gets your primed and ready for the next step.

Needs thorough proof reading, but otherwise very good.
Text is rife with errors in spelling, context, duplication of segments, often says the exact opposite of what was intended by omitting a key word---I could continue. For an experienced gunner, there are a plethora of good points to be had, however. Probably not the best reference for a complete novice because of the editorial confusion.

Great Information!
Yes, it did need a proofing, but I had no problem ignoring that. I am 79 yrs old and plan on getting my CCW and this book is just packed with the information I needed. I am just greatful that Mr. Manning saw fit to write it.

Great information
Covered all the important topics: legal, situational awareness, practice drills, mindset.. in a way that was easy to read and understand. Cemented many of the concepts that need to be cemented if you’re looking to carry concealed.

Great read for the new carry person. Very easy to understand
To carry requires a huge responsibility. Your first rule for a gunfight should be ....don't be there.....your safety and that of your love ones is the sole reason to carry. You can't solve the problems of the world.

Must-read
As someone who is against violence, this type of book is a reminder that self-defense is not about intention, but rather self-preservation. For those living in a country where concealing a weapon is a right, this book is a must-read that gives you detailed explanations as to how to use a gun and when to use it. It is an important part of any training and anyone who wants to be considered ready to use a gun needs to crack open this book and make sure they are truly ready to accept all the responsibilities related to such a dangerous weapon.
