Is it dishwasher safe ?

I haven't put mine in the dishwasher. I always boil water and put it in that a little past the blades. I think the write up on it says that the cover is dishwasher safe, but I never saw where it says that the whole unit is. So I don't put mine in the dishwasher, just boil the blades as recommended for one minute. Just so you know it is one of the best purchase I have ever made. Used to never liked sirloin steaks because never tender enough. Now I love them.

How many inches long are the blades? How many inches deep can it go through a piece of meat?

The Chef Master 90009 Professional Meat Tenderizer comes equipped with 48 2-inch blades.They will go as deep as they are forced to go.Some meats are softer and will allow you to push the blades in deeper than thicker/tougher meats.
