It does read down to .01g, but for light items, there is a considerable variance of the same sample weighed repeatedly. For using it as a counting scale for light items, it isn't really good enough. The iBalance M01 is considerably more consistent (or the iBalance i401 if you need even more, but over time, the load cell in the i401 seems to wear out).As a counting scale, while somewhat simple to configure...it is very slow to set. You have to wait for it to count to 10/25/50/100 if you want to sample at 100. Sampling 10 as 100 to see variances...you also get fairly different values when you put the exact same 50 in. It would be perhaps 495 to 507 with the same items (again, light items).If you were weighing heavier things...the 3kg limit would be very handy, and I suspect it would be sufficiently accurate for them. It just isn't for light items...and the .01g should really just be considered that it displays an extra digit...but I'd venture it's more of a .1g scale.

This is a full sized lab type scale that offers repeatable measurements. The only downside was that I could not find a battery that would power it and the manufacturer is not offering its own. So if you have the counter space and donate mind plugging it in with the supplied power adapter, it is a nice scale.

This is an excellent choice for making pottery glazes. capacity is high so I only have to weigh each ingredient once. On a triple beam balance, anything calling for more than 2 kg had to weighed out in two batches. It is fast, accurate and easy to keep clean. Price is half that of a new Ohaus triple beam, not including the counterweights and the standard weights.

After 3 years where I needed to purchase a new scale every year, I decided to spend the money on this model. I am happy to say that I had no issues with it, it is precise, easy to calibrate and operate.The only con is that you need to purchase a separate battery if you do not have access to electricity.

Very accurate scale. I use for soap making. Always gives me accurate weights never off or flossing back and fourth. easy to wipe off. Would buy this brand again in the future.

We calibrated it with the 500 gram weight that came with it and it was very accurate at 500 grams and 1000 grams. At 1500 grams there is some deviation and at 2000 grams you can see from the picture it read 1999.87 grams which is only a 0.13 gram deviation or 0.0065% error at 2000 grams.

This seems to be a very good scale for lab use. I would have given it 5 stars except it can't be used with batteries, paint job on the weight platform is not the best. However it seems to be accurate and it is good that it comes with a calibration weight.
