Great Card - Very Fast Sequential Speeds
Great card, delivers the promised speed of 95mbps. Sequential read speed is right at the advertised speed, and the write is lower (as expected) at around 45mbps. Still a very good number for a SDXC card at this price. If you plan on using this for a Raspberry Pie or similar, I would look elsewhere however, the random 4k read and write are quite slow. Used for a video camera or even a DSLR this won't matter, but for an OS type scenario you'll notice it. Overall a fantastic card and worth every penny of 44 bucks. Ran Crystal Disk Mark 5.1.2 with Transcend USB 3.0 Card Reader (TS-RDF5K) on a USB 3.0 port. The results are quite interesting. You'll see that this SD card is actually faster than most hard drives. Random read 4k is at 1542 IOPS (a fast disk drive will yield 150-200 IOPS). Random Read is nearly the same on 4k, both great numbers for an inexpensive SD card. The card is rated at UHS-1 U3 and should work well for 4k recording. Great card at a Great Price!!!! 90+Mb/s reads and 60+Mb/s writes, what else could you ask for???
I got this to use in my Lenovo Y510P, which has a SD card slot that flush mount a card, so why not add some more SSD storage? I was considering the 512GB, but for the price, this was much better at the time (Mar2016). Mine benched a little better than the other posted, with 4k blocks I got 90GB reads and 64GB writes. On 8k blocks it was the same as the other poster. PNY has the lifetime warranty too, which is also a nice feature, especially with a card this size, it should be useful for years to come. It came formatted as FATex, but I switched to NTFS for my setup. I am going to use this as my Acronis Secure Zone backup space, so I don;t eat up any space on my primary SSD. Since the backups run at night, I won't need the 200+ MB writes of the main SSD. I am very happy, and I would buy another if this one ever went bad. But if it goes bad, I will always have the lifetime RMA, so ... One other important thing to note: The Lenovo Y510P SD card reader is on the USB3 bus, I knew this because I tested the card in a Dell Latitude that only came with USB2, and the same card on the USB2 reader bus clocked in around 21Mb/S reads and writes, thus being capped by USB2. So, if you want to get the most out of this card, make sure your reader can support USB3 speeds. It might even read faster than 90Mb/s, but I will not know since I don't have a SD card reader on a PCI-E bus? I guess I could buy a PCI-E to SD card adapter for my Desktop, but I don't need it right now so I won't know anytime soon...

A reliable, tough card
PNY is owned by HP. PNY was named after the cities the company started in. Paris and New York. I have 4 more 64GB Elite Performance cards I bought over the past few years. I buy in pairs and load in pairs, using the second one as a back up. But, have not needed it yet. This one is slightly faster and was cheapest of all. Some people report problems with PNY but, I have never had any. I think the people with the problems are handling the cards all wrong on insertion or in general or, more likely, they got fake cards. I teach a basic digital photo class at a university and, I see the most incredible things with cards. One student came in with his split in half! It was a cheap, old, small card but still, how does that even happen? You have to be handling it really badly. Not storing it safely when out of camera (get a card case!) Amazon does not seem to sell the fake ones and mine have been great and have all the same pro capabilities as Lexar and San Disk. Waterproof, shock proof, etc. Not that I let it get to that, ever! The other thing people do not do is to reformat the cards IN the camera they are using them in. If you just stick a card in, it will work. But reformating it in camera (see your menus) ensures it is set up for that camera OS. Do that when you get a new card and before you shoot on it.

I have a Canon T2i that I use for recording video (and photography). Prior to purchasing this card when I would take video using my camera, it would flash a couple times and go off, then I would have to push the record button a second time. Even though my memory cards were "Class 10" it turned out that they were not fast enough. I have been using this memory card since October of 2014 and purchased a second in December 2015. The first one is still going strong, but I just like the idea of having an extra around. In fact, I took it on vacation and was able to take all the video and photos that I wanted without the need to pack extra memory cards. The storage space may look huge, but if you are recording 4k or 1080p video you will want more storage. The way I view it is that if I can pay 29 cents per GB (the same as a smaller card) I will pick up the biggest available. Whereas a 512GB card would be worth picking up for 160 bucks, it's not worth it when you're paying nearly double the price per GB. When I ran this memory card through a speed test on my computer I came up with a speed of 48.81MB/s Read and 85.96 MB/s Write. Keep in mind that these speeds will be slower when using a USB 2.0 memory card reader. When I switch the exact same card reader into a USB 2.0 port my card only gets 23 MB/s and 30 MB/s write and read respectively. Many people who complain about the slower speeds do not realize that the bottleneck is not in this card, but is their card reader. There may be better, faster, higher capacity, cards available, but I have never used one. This is the only SD Card I will buy now, until a better alternative presents itself to me.

Good SD drive
First, this is for the 512GB version of the drive. I like the drive. The speed is acceptable for everyday use while it may not exactly be the 90MB/s as they claim, and their prices are much better than their competitors'. I haven't had any hiccups using their older 128GB drive for taking pictures on my Nikon compact camera and storing my iTunes library, so I hope this will last me a few years- at least until 512GB becomes obsolete or 2TB becomes mainstream! DO NOT LISTEN TO THE NAY-SAYERS -- So-called "low performance" explained
Ordered this from Amazon/PNY. It came it the well-known PNY-branded packaging that read "up to 95 MB/s." I confirmed that it does READ at 95 MB/s. I also confirmed that it was indeed a 128 GB memory card, (which shows up as 119 GB depending on how you count what a GB is). EXPLANATIONS. 1) Why do some people document much-slower-than 95 MB/s read time? Well, because it depends on how your device is interacting with it. If you copy one ginormous file, say, 64GB, and it is written sequentially without fragments, and your device is dedicated to NOTHING BUT transferring the file, then you will see 95 MB/s read time. What if you're moving 64GB worth of data, but it's spread out among 200,000 files? Then every time you start to read and copy a new file, the device has to search for the filename in the file allocation table, (FAT), get the address of the file, and then go to that address, and follow pointers wherever that file is physically stored, jumping around as necessary. When it gets to the next file name, it will stop, go to your drive or memory where you're copying it TO, make a new entry in your FAT table, (okay, this is the somewhat simplified version), and then go back to the memory card and search, etc. IN SHORT, the greater number of files and folders you have, and the more scattered, (fragmented), those files are, then the more time the device will spend searching, writing file names, i.e., things OTHER THAN transferring data. That will report as a slower effective transfer rate, even though the memory card is performing at 95 MB/s. SECONDLY, if the device is doing other things on its bus, then clearly transfer time will slow down. Every time the device performs a task, it is reading/writing to/from memory locations, which require transfers over the bus. Somewhat simplified, but the bus is like lanes of traffic. Even if the memory card is reading at 95 MB/s coming out of its own parking garage and driveway, if the interstate (the device's bus) is clogged up with traffic from watching a movie, searching on the Internet, scanning for viruses, etc., then the data from the card is not going to arrive at 95 MB/s, even though it's capable of pumping the data to the interstate (bus) that fast. 2) WHY ONLY 119 GB? DID I GET RIPPED OFF? No. Remember, computers only know 2 numbers (or states: on or off). They follow a base-2 system. Let's start by asking what is a kilobyte? Every grade-school kid who learns the metric system knows it's a thousand bytes. They are right. Sort of. To a computer, a kilobyte is 2^10 bytes. Count it out with me: 2, (times 2 is), 4 (times 2 is) 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024. To a computer, a kilobyte is 1024 bytes, not 1000 bytes. So what is a megabyte? In common parlance, it's a million bytes, 1,000,000 bytes. But to a computer, a megabyte is 2^20 bytes. Count it out with me, starting with a kilobyte: 1024 (times 2 is), 2048 (times 2 is), 4096, 8192, 16384, 32768, 65536, 131,072, 262,144, 524,288, 1,048,576. So to a computer, 1 MB is 1,048,576 Bytes, even though we say it's 1,000,000 Bytes. A gigabyte (GB) is what we commonly call a billion bytes. But to a computer, instead of 1,000,000,000 B, a GB is actually 1,073,741,824 B. What we call 128 GB means 128,000,000,000 Bytes to us. But to a computer, 128 GB is 2^37 B, which is 137,438,953,472 B. So when you purchase 128 Billion Bytes of storage, you can call it 128 gigabytes, where "giga-" means "a billion." To understand how many "computer GB" this is compared to "human GB," simply divide by the ratio of 2^37 to 128 Billion, which is 137,438,953,472 divided by 128,000,000,000. You shoudl get 1.073741824. And when you divide it into 128 Billion Bytes, you get 119.2092896, which rounds to 119 GB (computer GB). SO YES, YOU PURCHASED 128 BILLION BYTES of memory, or 128 GB, which THE COMPUTER SHOWS AS 119 GB.

Fast SDHC Card
Have you ever had to wait forever for your camera to save a photo you just took? If so, that's probably because you have an SD or SDHC card that's too slow for the size of the images. Although this 95MB/sec PNY card is not the fastest card available, it approaches the current upper limit. My shots get quickly transferred to the card so that I can take the next photo. While I cannot tell this difference between this card and a 90MB/second card I own, it is a world of difference from 80 MB/second card I've used. As with most SDHC cards, read-speed is slower, though, in this case, still quick. Because I tend to upload photos to my computer fairly often, this 32 GB size is plenty big enough for me. I rarely approach a full memory card. If, however, you tend to go for long stretches and/or take thousands of photos before returning to a computer, you might want to consider a larger capacity for, IMO, not much more money. I've found PNY to be a reliable brand, which is why I bought this card when I decided a needed a spare card. It has now become my main SDHC card with a 90 MB/sec one as a backup. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

This is one HELLUVA CARD!! I own the 32GB 64GB and 256GB version of these cards and they work flawlessly for My BlackMagic / Black Magic Pocket cinema camera in all ProRes HQ 422 LT Proxy, in 30 FPS or below; it is not going to work at all for RAW it wont even recognize it for that type of recording but any thing else you are good, people complain about faulty recording or cards. It happens, go RMA it from amazon and get another one because this card is the way to go for price and performance. For photos this card is just plain overkill, if your camera could take 4 RAW photos continuously then its fine if not then dont blame the card but the buffer, any faster your looking for UHS-II cards or CF or CFast 2.0 cards which are a different ball game and should not be looking here. I do video production and am a solutions engineer so i would highly suggest this card. I have the Sandisk Extreme Pro cards for RAW recording on my BMPCC. This could in my opinion would also do fine for Sony A7 cameras and panasonic GH4 cameras at 200mbps intra or compressed. I never get dropped frames. Average Read speeds are 93MB/ps and writes are at 55MB/ps i use both an USB 3 SD card reader and SD card slots that are linked with a express lane so i get past 40 MB/ps.

128 GB SDXC Card seit Aug. 2017 im Dauereinsatz
Ich habe diese Card im August 2017 gekauft. Ich habe 3 verschiedene SDXC U3 Cards seit 2018 im Einsatz, Toshiba, Kingston und PNY. Die bei weitem günstigste hat als einzige nie Ärger gemacht. Die Toshiba mußte ich 2 mal neu formatieren um Sie in der Panasonic Lumix FZ 1000 wieder einsetzen zu können. Die Kingston nutze ich nicht mehr da ich schon dreimal HD Videodaten von meiner Panasonic HC-X929 mit einem Datenrettungsprogramm sehr Zeitintensiv reparieren mußte (glücklicherweise erfolgreich es waren einmal wichtige Kundenvideos). Die PNY setze ich in der Lumix weiterhin ein, in der HC-X929 kommt die Toshiba und in meine neue Panasonic HC-VFX999 die vorgestern gekaufte PNY 256GB SDXC Elite Performance Memory Card. Ich hoffe Sie bewährt sich genauso wie die kleine Schwester von 2017. Bewertung der 256 GB Card folgt nach mind. 3 Monaten gewerblichem Einsatz. :)

Works in TASCAM DR-40X
I purchased this to use with a TASCAM DR-40X. I had two cards it wouldn’t recognize and all the official media was really shooting up in price. This card is fast enough and gives you decent capacity. I will be filling the card before formatting to preserve its life and will report back if the card fails.

Es de lo mejor que hay, solo tengo excelentes reseñas de esta memoria, si quieres algo confiable para tus eventos ya sea foto o video o abmas y tener esa tranquilidad que la memoria no te va a fallar es tu opción, eh realizado entrevistas de 2 horas con esta memoria grabando a 4k 60 fps con una panasonic hx-c1000 y sin problemas, me atrevo a decir que es la mejor del mercado por ese precio, me costo unos $325 pesos mexicanos cada una, me compré un par, me arrepiento no haber comprado más, ahorita por el precio del dolar subieron muchisimo, pero en general un excelente producto. Sin duda recomiendo este modelo
