Secure Beveled Edge Bedside Fall Safety Floor Mat for Elderly Fall Injury Prevention, Extra Large 72"x38"x1, Non-Slip Cover, Protects Seniors Falling Out of Bed

Initially, I ordered a 2" thick folding mat that is used for various purposes -- workouts probably being the main one. It was very soft & cushy, and certainly would have cushioned a fall. It was also shiny vinyl, easy to clean. This mat is 1" thick -- a firm 1", also capable of blunting a fall. The surface is NOT shiny, and it collects everything - dandruff to lint. Even with a vacuum cleaner you have to be diligent. Underneath, it is so un-shiny that, when placed on a carpet, it won't move (which makes it harder to position). So why 5 stars? It does all the things needed to help prevent broken bones in someone who falls frequently, noone slides on it, and it doesn't end up tripping up anyone walking next to the mat because the edges are beveled, and low. This one is left down all of the time, by the bed, whereas the athletic mat was taken up every morning - because it was a bit of a hazard. It's also wider than most (38"), which is helpful, and the length of a bed (72"). So even though it is more expensive, it does the job, and does it well.

We used it for safety reasons at the end of our stair slide to protect the wipeout on the ceramic tile floor. We also use it under the rock wall in the hall way. It gives sturdy protection without being super thick. It’s beveled edges makes it unlikely to be tripped over. It also sticks to floor well without any extra “sticking” effort. Lay it in place and it’s done. It folds into thirds to allow putting away when needed. Best Buy we could have made for this need!

nice quality only thing is it is squishy and causes my mothers footing to feel very off balance,but it does feel very safe in the event of a fall.

This mat is wide and covers the area from the head to foot of a full-size bed. It does not slide around and the bevel edges should prevent tripping.

This mat is large enough for its intended purpose and seems as if it will adequately absorb the force of a fall. It is also extremely non-slip, as promised. However, the so-called "beveled" edges are not truly beveled; they are just an empty flap of the fabric that surrounds the mat. I find them to be more of a trip hazard than an "unbeveled" mat would be, and it is not easy to wheel a wheelchair up onto the mat. I had been hoping for a mat in which the edges of the internal padding were beveled, rather like the comfort mat I use in my kitchen.

Will protect against falls. Too hard for 80 year old undergoing physical therapy to walk on safely by self. 1/3 wider than one used in hospital. Much more flimsy and spongy than hospital's which was made in Netherlands and can not be found on Amazon.....yet.

I purchased 2 of these mats for my brother, one for each side of his bed. He has a tendency to roll over and fall off the bed while sleeping. The mats pad the floor so he doesn't hurt himself as much. Also, since he uses a wheelchair, he likes the beveled edges on the mats, which allow him to roll right up on them. He says they don't roll up, they lie flat and hug the floor. Very pleased with them.

My grandfather lives in a memory care facility and recently fell out of bed and injured his elbow. Luckily, he didn't break any bones but it was evident we needed something to cushioned a fall if it happened again. I chose this pad because it has beveled edges. This is perfect for him because he shuffles his feet and does not need to trip if he happens to get up in the night! Cushioning is perfect. Cushy enough, but not so much that he would sink down and possibly be unsteady. Perfect!
