MAD About the Trump Era (MAD Magazine (2018-))

Not nearly well known enough in these parts as it should be, MAD magazine casts its satirical gaze at the 45th President of the USA's first couple of years in office and the results are scathing. With the never ending supply of news spilling out from the White House, one could be forgiven for having forgotten a number of the events the pieces refer to. However, the humour is so sharp it quickly cuts through any foggy memories in a hurry.This collection got a few dark chuckles out of me and it's a definite must have for any fan of political satire who may find current events beyond parody. On a personal note, I felt the crowning jewel of this collection was MAD's tribute of sorts to Gorey's Gashlycrumb Tinies, which was nothing short of brutal and memorable.Highly recommended.
