Great desk for the money
I bought this as a gift for my daughter's room and it is beautiful, sturdy, and just the right size. Great quality for the money, and scratch resistant. I definitely recommend.

Good quality desk
Instructions were clear, pieces were all marked, holes were all clean and everything lined up well. The boxes are quite heavy with one being long and slender and the other being quite large in surface area so you may need help getting them to the area you plan to put it together. I had to unpack the boxes on my main floor and carry all the pieces up to the 2nd floor where I wanted to put it. It took me about 2.5 hours to assemble from cutting open the boxes to totally finished and that included carrying the pieces upstairs a few at a time and having both a 1 and a 3 year-old "helping" me :) But I have put hundreds of things together like this in my life so I would guess it would take an average person with hand tools around 4-5 hours taking their time. The instructions were clear and even had some funny little notes throughout that I found pretty unusual for this type of thing, usually the instructions are really dry and minimal so those little random jokes were funny. I really like the slot they included in the rear for your hand to get a better grip for moving, never seen that before.I wanted to go solid wood, but new it wouldn't be possible on my second floor with my tight stairs so went engineered. My wife really likes her new desk.

Poor quality
Had to pay someone to assemble. It is not as well built as expected.

Durable work surface
This desk is built to last, when I saw the particle board flaking and loose walls to some of the cubbies I immediately thought to myself this was a mistake. This was all just minor cosmetic flaws that did not affect the integrity of the desk.I've used this desk as a jewelers workbench since I bought it in 2022, I've stamped metal, soldered metal, even spilled cups of water multiple times and it never caused any damage.I've moved the desk multiple times across my room even with the drawers full and it held up fine, this was a major concern for me because the hardware securing everything looked to be unsatisfactory but I must admit it's done an amazing job.I store hammers, rotary tools, anvils and all my jewelry tools on here which probably add up to over 150 pounds and the desk has no support problems at all.I wrote this long review because this is a computer desk and I use it as a workbench, and I hope it will help you come to a conclusion on wether to purchase.

Two separate overall reviews..
I love the Sauder desk. It was fairly easy to assemble and the directions were easy to follow. The finished product looks like an item that would have cost twice as much. I assembled the desk on about 10 hours with some help from my wife in order to stand the desk up and get the back on straight. Now for the negative issue. As advertised, the desk comes in two, separate, heavy boxes which (may arrive separately). In this case "separately" was an understatement. The first box arrived about a week after the order was placed, which was fine. I received a delivery date, from Amazon for the second box. That date came and went, about 3 times. Contacted Amazon several times. Long story short, they lost the second box. They suggested I call Sauder, directly, which I did. They said both boxes were shipped at the same time, but may arrive separately. After about two weeks, waiting for the second box and hoping for some satisfaction from Amazon, I called Sauder back and purchased the second box directly from them. Their customer service was fantastic as opposed to the customer service from Amazon. So my two separate ratings for this are... Sauder desk and customer service A+++. Amazon customer service and delivery D---.

Great value but requires considerable assembly
This computer desk is a great value for the money. However it requires a considerable amount of assembly. I assembled the desk myself and it took me about eight hours, with a few breaks here and there. It is shipped in two very heavy boxes. It was packed very well and there were no missing or damaged parts. The instruction manual provided clear instructions and I didn't have much trouble following them. I suggest having a large amount of floor space to lay out the parts and assemble the unit. The hardware came in a plastic bag containing the various items in individual pouches and was easily identified. However the identification of the desk components was not so good. Some parts had labels affixed, but others were marked on an unfinished edged with a marking pen in very small letters, this was addressed in the instruction manual but it would have been better if all parts were all more clearly identified. Desk assembly requires a lot of very long wood screws. I found many of the pre-drilled pilot holes to be a bit too small. Even with the proper sized screw driver, I'm sure i would have ended up stripping the screw head before getting it all the way in. In some instances, I had to drill out the pilot holes a bit and use lubricant on the screw threads to get them in. I had the same issue with the two plastic braces that hold one of the rails for the keyboard tray. The two fasteners provided would in no way thread in until I drilled the holes in the plastic braces one size larger and yes I was definitely using the proper hardware. The issues I mentioned were a bit of a nuisance, but not a show stopper. The assembly went relatively well and I was very pleased with this desk.
