Did you know that this product contains formaldehyde?
*I demand the provider to clarify that this product contains formaldehyde on the product description page and response to my review below.I was overall satisfied with its design or sturdiness. Undeniabely easy to assemble. And if you are looking for something couchy comfortable, maybe this futon might not be your best choice.HOWEVER, after assembling this couch at night, on the next day I found a sticker hanging below the couch.I stripped it off and was surprised and felt duped: it said this product contains formaldehyde (just google it and you can easily find its dangereousness to your body - it leads you to cancer or leukmia on a serious level) and I wasn't able to come across this information ANYWHERE on this product page in Amazon. So I went back to this page and looked up for the word "formaldehyde", but couldn't find it anywhere; even from the linked page that leads you to the government of California's prohibition list.My initial physical response to this toxic substance was headache and itching throat and this was before I new that this product contained formaldehyde. After I found this out, I don't sit on the sofa any longer. I have already disposed the box that night so I can't even return this. I'm just helplessly operating air purifyier which just gets rid of its smell and fan almost all day long because of this. Some of you might have no regard with this kind of health related matter when buying low priced product, but I strongly recommend for those who have young children, babies, or pets NOT to buy this toxic product.

Substandard Product with Horrendous Customer Service
First off, I think this is the first negative review I've ever left for something I've purchased from Amazon. And I've spent a lot of money here.I purchased this futon less than 5 months ago. I sit in it while I watch the news and eat breakfast in the morning--less than 2 hours a day. Otherwise it gets very little use besides the occasional relative staying over. After the first two months there began to be a permanent depression in the place where I sit. Keep in mind I am a 6 foot tall man who weighs only 165lbs. Over the next couple of months the depression got worse. A month or so ago the hardware that keeps the futon in the sitting position failed to work after reclining it to the bed position. Now it takes repeated tries to get it to engage. Sometimes it just won't engage at all. I put a wooden crate behind it to hold it in the sitting position.I emailed DHP, the manufacturer, explaining the issue. The representative who replied asked me to send him proof of purchase and a photo of the depression in the seat. This I did. He then emailed me again and stated that the photo was insufficient, and that I needed to place a weighted bowl on the futon where the depression is and take a photo of it. I didn't understand the logic in this and told him as much, but I did as he asked and took a photo with a big salad bowl full of water and sent it to him. I then received another email stating that now I needed to make a video showing how the futon's hardware won't keep it in the sitting position. I live in the mountains and have very poor satellite internet. Uploading videos here is near to impossible. I have to drive 30 minutes to get wifi. I explained this to the rep, and also asked why the permanent depression in the futon (which is unsightly and uncomfortable) wasn't enough to replace the item or refund my money. His response was that they are two different issues and that he required the video to make a decision as to how it was to be handled. I responded asking him how it would be handled if it was simply the permanent depression in the futon without the hardware issue. I have yet to hear back from him. I don't really expect to. I got the sense that DHP had no intention of standing behind their product.

Good for the $, fabric is outstanding just not that comfy.
Got this for my mom and built it at her house. Shipping arrived on time and product was not damaged. Thing thing was super easy to put together. It’s not a large sofa, let’s get that out of the way. It’s not high enough especially for a 6”1 man like myeself. Still for the money, it does the trick. My highest praise is the material used, sure it’s not super comfortable but the stitching and soft texture material on sofa is nice! I got the grey one with chrome legs, and it looks awesome. This thing would serve its purpose 100% in a kids room for sure. If you need to save up for a more comfortable and larger sofa and need something in a couple days for less than $150 go with this, PLEASE!

Dog and people approved!
We ordered this as a replacement for an old, worn out sofa that was finally finished off by the pups. Since we had a small area in which to place this and it was also going in front of a window, we were intrigued with the ability to have the back in a few different positions. Knowing that the pups would be lounging and using this as a landing place when springing up from halfway across the room, we needed durability! This futon is very easy to put together and rather light to move. Any concerns of it shifting when sitting on it or more often, when the pups go running on to it, it stays in place. Very pleasantly surprised at the comfort and ease of cleaning this futon. Very much like that it doesn't appear as flimsy and cheap as the ones you see in college dorms; definitely sturdier and much more attractive! Sitting on this for a long time is not going to be for regular sized people as the back is shorter than a sofa and it is firm; all qualities that we needed. In order to preserve the fabric, we do occasionally use a blanket or sheet; a twin sized fitted sheet holds beautifully even though it is a bit long on the ends. Overall, we are very happy with this purchase and hope to use it for a long time to come!

It would be perfect if it was taller and wider overall
It's really small. Smaller than I was expecting. It would be perfect if it was taller and wider overall. But I like the material, color and style. When we get a house, it will go perfectly in a office or nursery. It was easy to assemble. I'm 5' and put it together myself. It's sturdier than our previous futon just way smaller.
