Better than expected
This appears to be the same item sold by West Marine with their "brand" name on it. The pole is plastic/poly material 0.25" wall thickness with nice brass inserts and a small set screw to prevent it from unscrewing. Clips are plastic and releases for the flashlight are just thin stamped metal but worked fine. The included mounting clip with a stainless screw for making your own mount was a nice inclusions. The light itself was great for a stern/all-around light and as a flashlight. If indeed waterproof it is worth the price by itself. Used the suction cup mount on top of outboard motor at speeds below 7 knots and it did not budge. Overall very pleased and satisfied with this.

Works great on my 15’ Whaler
I just restored a 80’s 15’ Boston Whaler and I didn’t want to run any wiring for Mac. lights.I have a red/green one on the bow and this white light on top of my 70 Yamaha and I’m legal.Sticks great IF you clean the surface first. It’s not magical. If you just jam it on a dirty surface it could come off.A must for Kayak’s at night.Bright as hell.4 aaa batteries

It is nicely made, but the manufacturer put the wrong lower ...
The last one of these I had wore out. This is nearly identical, but instead of 4 AA batteries, it uses 4 AAA batteries. The light, however looks just as bright, although I imagine the batteries will run down sooner. It is nicely made, but the manufacturer put the wrong lower pole in the package. Since it lacked the 3 holes necessary for the bracket, we couldn't use it on the transom of our inflatable. However I had saved the pole from our previous light, and it screwed perfectly into the pole with this one so all is well. The unit can be used on many different configurations of boat, as it has almost everything one would need to use it. It can also be easily removed from the pole to use as a flashlight. The lack of the correct pole and the brevity of the instructions are why I took off a star.

Suction would break loose hitting waves while running, light broke off suction base in 3 weeks.
Only had the light for 2 or 3 weeks and it broke off its base from the vibration of running normal and hitting some waves. For the price i expect this product to be more durable.

Safety it's very important in the sports.
Actually i found the product is perfect, Strong led light and it has many options for mountining, The delivery was perfect and delivered to me, I want to use it in my kayak boat as a safety light for sometimes night kayaking on the boat showing in the picture.

Its bright almost to bright but its behind the fisherman and doesn't affect the blacklights my partners are very happy with my choice
Bought this light because i night bass fish. The stern light light that comes with my boat is always in the way for whoever is fishing in the back. I mounted the light on top of a yahama 150 with a safety line in case it wanted to fall off at high speed it has not even at 55mph . It does a geat job its back out out the way and can be seen for miles . Its bright almost to bright but its behind the fisherman and doesn't affect the blacklights my partners are very happy with my choice! Again it sticks well and doesn't try to blow off.

Excellent, improved over bigger Aqua Signal stern light
Aside from the price, this is a great light that is improved in every way over the bigger Aqua Signal I had for a few years. It is just as bright, maybe brighter, but smaller and more compact. The suction cup is more sophisticated, the bottom has a carabiner clip, and the battery compartment is big enough so all the AAA batteries I have fit in it without binding to the sides (the old light sometimes had issues with bigger AA batteries). The switch is now flatter, not the slightly raised circle in a rubberized area.It came with a lot of different kinds of mounting equipment, including various clamps and a pole, so you should be able to mount it almost everywhere. I usually use the suction cup on a rowing shell, some of which are not very smooth or flat, but I haven't had a problem with the light coming off yet.

Works well, only use the suction mount so far
I put this on the top of our outboard motor, and it works. Make sure the motor is really clean and somewhat dry, and it has a really good seal/suction. Otherwise, it might fall off and you'll loose it! We didn't mount it anywhere else, the suction seemed to be the best fit for us. It was bright, and the battery has lasted a few trips out so far. Overall, it did the job.
