Accurate
I use this for nursing school and this thermometer is accurate. Really easy to use too. Whether you're using the ear or forehead method, this thermometer is really easy to use. The way I use it is I press the thermometer to my patient's forehead and hit the power button. Once on, it automatically reads their temperature. When you remove the forehead piece, it automatically reads for ear temperature. Again, I do the same and I get an accurate temperature with no issues. When we wipe it down with either bleach or alcohol wipes, we still get an accurate reading. Really easy to clean and fits in our scrub pockets with no issues. Really has been coming in handy while we are earning our clinic hours.

Convenient-takes practice to get the hang of.
So first off the most accurate way to measure someone’s temperature, with the smallest room for human error, is oral or rectal. I wanted this thermometer so that I can take my kids’ temperatures in a non-invasive way if they are asleep...or just to get a quick check. My kids are 5 and 20 months. There is a lot of room for human error with this method of taking temperatures, so I recommend playing around with it for a while, and reading the directions. I tried it on my daughter and myself multiple times before I got the hang of it. At first it said we all had a fever. After playing with it for a while, getting used to the motion, button, when to gold and release the buttons, how to hold the ear etc., I was getting accurate readings. Also, there’s a chart in the directions that shows the acceptable range of temps based on where you are taking the temp, which is very helpful.

I would say to buy this is you have young children in the house.
I went and bought three thermometers from the store and all broke and where wrong. I thought my son was coming down sick , so I ordered this one, to watch out for a fever. That night I used the one I had bought at the store and it read 98.8. But my son was very hot. I took his temperature with Digital Infrared Baby Thermometer and boom 100.1 fever. We took him to the hospital and they also read 100.1 fever. I would say to buy this is you have young children in the house. So easy to use and is on point for temperature.

Innaccurate
My window to return closed two days ago - but my kid just got sick.I get a different reading each time I scan - WILDLY different, one time she's at a 104.4 the next time she's at 101.SO disappointed. A traditional thermometer from the dollar tree works SO much better. I grabbed one out of my toddller's doctor kit and it worked. This is junk.

Unreliable.
We bought this item after using several others, and this one also let us down. My husband and I tested this to look for accuracy, and it was all over the place. Every 5 mins for an hour of sitting in the living room watching TV, we took our temps and they had a variance of 5+ degrees! Within 5 mins! And at one time it told me I was dead! Doubt my temp was 79.1! We repeated this with the ear feature the next night, a bit better but still all over the board. I think I will be going back to good old-fashioned mouth thermometers, even if they are a fight with my 18 month old.

Not accurate -- don't believe the reviews
For every five times I take my temperature, two times I have a low fever, two times it's normal, and once it'll be low. Worthless device. I'm annoyed that I bought it based on good reviews.

Love this product.
This product was really easy to use (I tested it on my husband and vise versa) and I love that it can be used for the forehead or the ear, some babies are fussy when sick and this allows a temperature to be taken in more than one way when they are uncomfortable. Though our baby isn’t due until April, we got a good use of testing our temperatures for the last week we have had it and really like this product! It’s also smart in the way that when you take the forehead cap off it automatically knows you are ready for ear temperature. (Screen shows it lit up for each on photos when you initially hit the scan button).

DO NOT BUY. IT IS NOT ACCURATE!!!
DO NOT BUY THIS! It’s junk. I almost took my toddler to the ER for a 106.4° fever that didn’t exist! Don’t get me wrong, she had a fever, but that high!!?? It was frightening and awful.
