Great if you have adopted the Switchbot Eco System
I recently purchased the Switchbot Curtain Rod 2 and installed this is my bedroom. They work fantastically, but it was a little frustrating having to open the app every time i wanted to open/close the curtains. The app is very well designed but it just felt like a faff to keep going into my phone every time. As a result i decided to order the swithbot button which works great. On further research i came across the hub mini which allows your switchbot devices to connect with Alexa/Google Home. Having a ton of alexas in our home i thought i would order and give it a try. The hub mini is a very small and compact device. Installation was super easy, connect to a USB power source (cable but no plug included - however i just plugged the included USB lead into a wall socket with USB power points). Connecting the hub to the app was again very simple - the app walks you through this. Within a couple of minutes i had linked the hub to the relevant switchbot Alexa skill and voila - my curtains were now Alexa controlled! Once connected to your wifi network you can also remotely control devices away from your home environment, such as opening your curtains from work or even abroad! Fantastic for security. What i was not aware of is that the hub mini also has an infrared sender, so you can set this little guy up to control your other smart devices - this includes your TV, Projectors, Sky etc. Programming the device to control my Optoma projector was a piece of cake - the app again walks you through this and inputing the manufacturer and model number of your smart device finds the relevant IR codes. You then walk through a test screen to ensure the buttons are all doing what they are suppost to do. If any of the buttons don't work properly or your device is not known then the app allows you to send your own IR codes directly by pointing your remote at the hub and pressing the relevant button. It auto learns this code and programmes the remote in the switchbot app. Overall if you have switchbot devices then the hub mini is a must! It's good value and has a ton of extra features that i didn't even know it had. I hope that you found my review helpful.

The hub to help automate the older tech in your house
With the SwitchBot hub I’m able to automate lots of annoying old tech in my house that doesn’t have a cheap smart solution yet. When someone takes a shower the extractor fan is outside the bathroom. Using the switchbot humidity sensor this turns on automatically when needed. To avoid mould build up this runs until the humidity drops to a certain level based on a simple switch bot hub scene. Previously I had to remember to go turn it off after an hour or so and something others forget to turn the extractor fan on at all, causing issues. I had to use two bots because despite lots of different positions and talking to the support team there just isn’t enough power to push and pull this one fused switch. If I was more electrically minded I’d maybe replace it but for now this works and still lets people manually press the switch it required. My coffee machine takes about 3 minutes to fire up, now with the switchbot hub I’m able to say “Alexa turn the coffee machine on” from my office upstairs and by the time I walk downstairs and pick up my cup, it’s ready to go! The possibilities are endless, if I didn’t already have a harmony I’d use the bot for IR commands. My only wish was that there was better HomeKit integration but the helpful switchbot team told me recently they are working on homebridge integration so that should help towards that little request. For now the IFTTT integration and Alexa integration along with Scenes in the Hub is providing me with plenty of value. Purist HA may not love the BLE vs. Zigbee/Zwave element of this solution but until everything is much cheaper and accessible this solution is working well for me and am always finding new things to automate around the home. EDIT: the homebridge plugin is available now and it’s great when paired with a raspberry pi, I can access my switchbot curtains, SwitchBots and temperature and humidity sensors within the Apple HomeKit app now and using eve with conditional rules have been able to make some pretty complex automations

A good upgrade for my blind tilt
I got this to control a SwitchBot Blind Tilt via Alexa so I could set my blinds to close at sunrise and sunset as the light sensor on the blind tilt wasn't accurate enough. This was a bit tricky to set up - i showed up in the app without a problem, but the blind tilt wouldn't come online through it. I restarted the app and it applied a software update to the hub, but it still didn't work. I ended up removing the hub from the app and adding it again, with it still not working I did the same with the hub. After that it started working and it came across into Alexa. Once I got it working, it works well. I had a power cut today and it all came up fine when the power came back on, so it all looks good now and works really well. I think it is good value too.

Highly recommend the Switchbot Hub Mini
We have had the Switchbot Hub Mini for a little while now and haven’t had any problems in the time we’ve had it. It integrates well with Alexa meaning we can use Alexa to control other Switchbot devices for example ask the temperature of different rooms in our house or she can control the ir controls (for example turning the tv on/off, usually part of a routine we have set or turning on the tv from another room giving the tv a chance to turn on etc). When we are not home we can check in on the app and see the temperature of different rooms in our house (the hub means you can see these things on the app when you’re not home) giving peace of mind when we are away and our house rabbit is being looked after that the room isn’t too hot/cold). It is easy to set up and add into the Switchbot app and also easy to set up ir controls for different products. Also handy that to power the Switchbot hub is a usb connection meaning it can be plugged into other devices that are always on to power it or into a usb adapter plug (which most people have now days). All in all I would definitely recommend buying one of these if you are thinking about buying any other Switchbot products or even just looking for an ir remote.

Great product with some issues
Was initially very impressed with the product and how easy it was to set up and use remote devices with. After a while I noticed that it would often go offline randomly and I would be unable to control my devices, sometimes happening a few times a day. The only thing that would fix it was turning it on and off at the wall when I needed to turn a device on (defeating the purpose of being able to control my devices from my phone). I contacted the company and they were helpful and sent a replacement. I am still having this issue with the new one but less frequently. Maybe once a week. The idea and execution of the product is amazing! I love it! This is the only issue and it can be very annoying when you’re just trying to turn a TV on from your phone, you find the device is ‘offline’ and you have to go and turn it off and back on at the wall. I hope this issue is fixed as I don’t think it’s a hardware issue as I’ve had two now. Great costumer service though.

Can control sky stream through Alexa and close our curtains
Bought this to allow us to control our smart bot curtains which it does. Noticed it could also control ir remotes so had a play setting it up with our sky stream which doesn’t connect to Alexa like our tv and was a bit annoying when we are trying to make all our house smart. So first had to turn infrared on. The remote is automatically set to use Bluetooth. Press 4 and 6 together for 10 seconds. The add remote to the hub by selecting the hub in switch bot app and selecting add remote control at the bottom. Then it found the remote but I had to add all the buttons manually which is a bit faffy but straight forward enough as none of the templates worked. The voice control would then turn the sky stream on and off via Alexa (which was already connected to the SwitchBot app) but nothing else. So in the switchbot app had to add each button as individual scenes (press the tiny cross at the top and add scene name the command then add action and select smart device, click the remote then the button you want) I named them simply “up” “down” as if I added the word sky before it then Alexa confused it with the power button so just turned it off. That’s because to action the scenes you have to tell Alexa to turn it on. So now I say “Alexa turn on up” and it presses the up button on the remote … or “Alexa turn on ok” It’s a long way around but if I can’t find the sky remote at least I can slowly get what I want to watch on. Or pause what I’m watching if I get caught up in another room for longer than the adverts (which I have to say Alexa turn on play for as the play pause button is the same one 🤷🏻♀️) Hope this helps anyone trying to get it to work for them

Dumb Hub
Avoid. I bought switch bots to turn some non smart devices to work with Alexa, alongside the mini hub by switchbot. Got these set up with the hub and their own app. The app itself seems pretty dodgy asking for constant precise location permissions. It worked ok with their own app. Hub set up and when trying to use the dedicated skill on Alexa it just doesn't work. Many reviews on the app seem to show that this has been the case since July this year. 6 months where clearly the switchbot team can't be bothered to fix their Alexa compatibility. This is an abandoned bit of kit. Where the actual product is great, it works flawlessly and is incredibly easy hardware wise to set up. But is completely let down by abandoned software. The only way to control these without using their questionable app is to use an old school Infrared remote... This smart home hardware has turned into a dumb brick, and yet the still sell it and advertise it as smart home compatible. When that is just simply not the case

Only Supports 4 matter devices, but Switchbot made it right
The device was advertised as supporting 8 matter devices (still not a lot), but in fact it only supports 4. Switchbot has since then changed the description to mention the 4 device limit. I've returned the Hub Mini Matter and Switchbot has generously send me a free Hub 2 Matter, which supports 8 matter devices.

5. In Google Home automatiseringen toevoegen. "Televisie aan" met als starter: Hey Google televisie aan Acties: Tv-aan Topbox Beide op "aanzetten" 6. In Google Home automatiseringen toevoegen. "Televisie uit" met als starter: Hey Google televisie uit Acties: Tv-uit Topbox Beide op "uitzetten". That's all.

Useful universal remote feature, extends wifi capability to Fingerbots
I wanted a hub to be able to use Fingerbots outside of Bluetooth range and also for the universal remote feature. The hub was easy to set up and functions well, I am able to trigger the Fingerbot in any wifi range. I really like the universal remote learning feature, it's very versatile and allows me to use remotes that don't have a simple code like a typical tv remote. Also like that it's an IR blaster so remote commands reach a wide area. The app has a good interface with matching remote buttons. It would be a nice feature to reorder buttons or even make a custom layout. My one issue is that sometimes it will not register the initial remote command. It usually responds the first time and there is very little lag between pressing the button in the app and it triggering on the remote or Fingerbot.
