ChantalClassic Teakettle, 1.8 QT, Food Grade Pure Copper, 2-Tone Harmonica Whistle, Rapid Boil and Even Heating (Copper)

I've lost some of my range of hearing (certain high tones) so this thing is LOUD. Leave it to fully boil & you get a freight train sound. It's awesome. Handle remains cool as does the opener tab on the spout. Nice finish & I like that the inside is blue enamel.

This is my first Chantal product. I researched a good tea kettle and based on the reviews and beautiful aesthetics I settled on this one. The only negative I have is that the item is advertised as brand new and the price reflects as such. It came inside an amazon box along with other items I ordered but the tea kettle had no other packaging other than a small tag attached via a chain. It looks new but it was definitely NOT NWT. I seriously doubt Chantal products are sold without ANY packaging. I kept the rating at 5 stars b/c this is most likely due to the seller and not the product quality.That being said - I love this tea kettle! It looks great in our kitchen - black granite counter tops with stainless steel appliances. I have only used it 3x so far but the whistle sounds good and the water heated up fast enough for me. Cleaning it so far has been fine. The handles don't really get in the way - maybe if you have large arms and hands this could be an issue but I am 5'4" and have no problem getting my hand in there to clean it. It's a tight fit but manageable. I have to remember to move it when I am cooking - just to keep it free of cooking splatter etc. It is still shiny and a pretty addition to the kitchen. The capacity is perfect for me. I have a HiWare 50oz glass drip-free carafe (pitcher) I like to keep tea in and the capacity in this kettle is perfectly matched to my pitcher.It feels of good quality and I feel like it will last a long time in our home. I hope the whistle lasts and does not have an issue other reviewers have of breaking. The finish is more of a brushed steel as opposed to a high polish - which is great b/c that helps keep it looking nicer longer.I know I rely heavily on reviews. I owned one of the Chantal enameled steel tea kettles for over 10 years and loved it, so when I saw a friend had registered for the copper version on their wedding registry I was excited to purchase it. So excited, in fact, that I bought one for myself and gave away my old kettle. What a mistake.I have quite a few pieces of copper cookware and love the patina it accumulates with age and use. But this doesn't develop a patina, the copper simply comes off in flakes. I've never encountered copper plating so thin, especially on a tea kettle that costs $160. Every time I clean this kettle I loose more and more of the plating. I wish I'd paid more attention to the reviews that mention this exact problem.And as far as the warranty goes, think again. This kettle has a 1 year or a 5 year warranty, depending on which part of the kettle you're having issues with. From Chantal's Web site:"This warranty does NOT cover (1) ordinary wear and tear (such as scratches, dents, cleaning issues or stains to the stainless steel or copper's external or internal surfaces that do not impair the functional utility of the product),..."I've contacted Chantal several times and been told that this was either ordinary wear and tear or a cleaning issue and is not covered under the terms of the warranty. This kettle was not abused, boiled dry, or cleaned with anything other than vinegar and salt solution that the company suggests on its Web site.This kettle looks great out of the box and does continue to function well, but eventually the finish will come off and you're left with a really ugly, over-priced kettle. My advice is to save yourself some money and heartache and keep shopping.

I owned and used a Chantal teakettle for 50 years. After thousands of uses the enamel began to chip. I'm not complaining though, it lasted far longer than I expected and always looked great,

After searching and purchasing multiple other tea kettles I found the Chantal Classic Copper teakettle. Everything is just perfect, the size, the proportion, the gleaming copper. It looks beautiful on my Viking range, like a piece of jewelry. It works really well, Love the deep whistle....sounds like a train coming into the station! Just be aware, if you have a gas stovetop, don't let the flames come up over the side, it will discolor the copper. However, it can be cleaned up with vinegar and lemon juice per the manufacturer instructions. Also, the discoloration isn't bad as it leads to a natural patina. Enjoy!!

So my wife loves this tea kettle. She uses it at least twice a day, practically everyday. A couple caveats... If you have a traditional gas stove, keeping it shiny and char free might be next to impossible. Her previous one was charred horribly. That said, I ended up replacing it when the whistle top broke off, and the kettle stopped whistling.However, her new one was remained char free, as we now have an electric stove. With the new stove, it's easy to keep nice and shiny, following the easy care instructions, including making sure the kettle is emptied fully after each use.

内部コーティングの剥離が始まったため、２０年近く使ってきた先代を泣く泣く処分。某有名デザイナーのやかんを購入して、しばらく使ってみたものの、沸騰しても分からないは、注ぎ口からお湯をたれ流し続けるは、…で散々。使えば使うほど不満が募って、同型の色違いを買い直し。手元に届いたケトルを眺めてみて、このデザインが好きだったんだということに気づいた。そして何の加工もしてないように見える注ぎ口から一滴もお湯が垂れないのが凄い。笛の音も便利。並行輸入品ではあることを気にする方がいるかもしれないけれど、正規輸入品だった先代と比べての「差異」は「内部コーティングの仕方」くらいだと個人的には思っている。

見た目も、気に入って。探して2代目のケトル。同じ物を使うのは、使い勝手だけじゃなく、置いた姿も好きだから。今のところ、この子以上は見当たらないので。

三代目のシャンタール。30年以上使い続けていますが、丈夫で飽きもきません。

オニキスを買いましたが、写真の色とかなり違いました。マットな黒に見えましたが実物はステンレスにうっすら黒いスモークがかかっているような感じ。購入元に問い合わせましたが返事もありません。写真の加減なら加減だと教えてもらいたかったのですが。あまりに違うので塗り忘れかと思いました。楽しみにしていたのに残念です。
