Fantastic fun!
Bought this advent calendar for my boyfriend (28 years old) and he's just opened the first door. He's already spent a good half hour tinkering with the contents of the first door, and I've had a look through the extensive instruction manual that is included. Looks like it'll be more fun every day! Highly recommend this for anyone interested in electronics. Well worth the money and having seen the contents, I would even happily pay a higher price. Will definitely keep this brand in mind for future fun advent calendars!

Not much to build, but fun nonetheless
As you get to day 5, you essentially only get to select a different game by swapping a resistor. But the preprogrammed processor is brilliant in supporting a number of useful toys. The electronics notes are well written and approachable.

Disappointing
My husband found the calendar disappointing and very repetitive

Rubbish
Where are the circuit diagrams? The box is junk, it can't be glued, there are no perforations to make it easy to fold. This is a really badly thought out piece of work.

Component missing
There was a bulb loose in the packaging when the box was opened and when my son opened door 1 today the switch was missing meaning he couldn't create the first part of the calendar

If it stops working it may be overheated
I too received this, and like a few reviews here had problems on day 3 and 4 with it not working. I noted that the big chip item you get on day 3 was very hot. I took the battery out, let the chip cool and tried again and everything now worked fine.I’d started it a few days late and built the first 4 days one after the other hence why it was running hot. Whilst that sorted the problems I am concerned that such items could overheat like this. People need to be careful of leaving it with the batteries in.
