Stainless ratchet is fine, don't get the hook end near anything where rust stains will show. Why did they cheap this out? Cut it off and put your own stainless snap shackle on it.

These are very high grade stainless and are performing very well for us. We use them to secure a13’ whaler to our front deck. It’s been 6 months since we installed them with constant exposure to salt spray and they still look like brand new.

Ratchet ok, BUT HOOKS ARE REGULAR STEEL AND WILL RUST! Ordered to use on a yacht - THE NOTES SHOULD STATE THAT THE HOOKS ARE NOT STAINLESS - SNEAKY.

I looked everywhere, and wonder why it is so hard to find a stainless steel ratchet stra?. I was happy to find these. I did have to substitute the hook strap from another brand because I needed a 15 foot length. It worked fine with this ratchet....except for color mismatch, which, yes, is a silly complaint.

Too soon to tell how it will hold up to a salt water environment but it seems well made so it should.

Quality straps and good for price. The straps are short, but work for most things in my truck bed. The ratchet seems good quality and I bet the webbing will fail first.

I used these for securing the dinghy on our sailboat. The stainless steel ratchets are essential for the saltwater environment. So far they work great. For our use they would be even better if the two parts of the strap were attached, so that they don’t separate when you loosen them. I’ll probably sew them together.
