MUCH SMARTER to avoid algae than treat it, this device WORKS
This pool device has kept our pool algae free as long as we order these replacements rather than trying to use the existing anode past the point where spraying it off makes it look almost brand new again.Don't try to extend the life of the existing anode. I thought if it was 80 percent "good" we'd still have algae protection. RESOUNDING NO to that idea. Your pool will get algae again (voice of experience.)Highly recommend the device this replacement anode is for. But we did have to buy the entire unit after skimping on the replacement anode. Not sure why after trying to use it with the anode a bit corroded, the entire device failed....I just know it's a fact.Recommend this product for use in any pool where algae is an ongoing concern. I didn't expect it to work as described but it absolutely does. We've saved a lot on algaecide and maintained a pool with less chemicals. The dangers of algaecide ingredients are something you can look up on ewg.org. Be wary of them, especially if you have young children

Not fully compatible
For some reason, it did not fit with my Remington solar unit. Had to cut out the edge of basket in order to secure by the winged nut. I thought the anode was same diameter as original but it was not. Hopefully it will work.

The anode is so small. You save money just buy the original

COPPER ANODE
Ordered 3 pk of the copper anodes. At 1st I thought that they were not compatible and rated them a 1. The mfg called me and low and behold I was trying to screw it n up side down. Trying to use the plastic screw from my original order.After looking in the shipping envelope I found that they had shipped new screws that are much more sturdy.Thank you Amazon, and so sorry for the inappropriate rating
